SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
As far as I'm aware the Aussie teams don't play each other twice each season, include byes for teams and is exactly why they have a play off series to decide the Grand Finalists.
And in Super League we already have an odd number of rounds due to the magic weekend, would an odd number of teams really matter. Just give the most dreadful team the previous year (or the newly promoted team - well they don't fit in do they) the bye for that weekend.
Do the maths? , it doesnt work, I thought you southerners were supposed to be clever?

Perhaps because the people running the club are idiots?
Well I'm sure Gus was seen as a nice man as well as Rea, not much going for them otherwise. I Respect David Hughes so much how much he has put into the club his own money! not a loan like a club with a new ground! but why has he never gone for someone with enthusiasm, who knows what they doing? something I can't work out.

Oh dear lets explain in English. Whether you have an odd or even number of teams it doesn't really matter a great deal if you have a play off system to define the winners of the comp. The Winfield Cup in the 80s for example only had 13 teams. Take 1987 for example, the year before Newcastle, Brisbane and Gold Coast joined the comp, they had a top five play off, do look it up.
Jaybs I agree about David Hughes, I've got to respect the money he's put into the club. I don't know a lot about Gus, to be fair. I clashed with Tony Rea back in the 90's, though he told me he used my criticism as a motivational tool! We can only speculate, but for my part, having looked into he backgrounds of some of the non performing payers I was astonished at their previous successes. They have not performed anywhere near that level at London. Something Is seriously wrong, but I don't think we know enough to find whether its the coach, the players, both or neither. My home town club is Wigan, and I saw their lack of success from 1966 to 1983. It only changed when the chairman changed....which takes me back to Mr Hughes. ...

So apparently it can work.
So which club plays one more or one less league match than the rest?
Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently. Rosa Luxemburg, 'Die russiche Revolution'.
So which club plays one more or one less league match than the rest?
None - there are TWO byes for each club representing the 'missing' home and away fixtures,. In a thirteeen team competition each club plays 24 games with 2 weekends off, with an extra round for the Magic weekend with (as I suggested earlier) the Northern Rail Cup winners coming in to make up the numbers. Then in 2015 we revert to an even number of clubs, perhaps, maybe, who knows (certainly not the RFL!).
the Imaginary "code wars" still rage in the minds of some.........I have no doubt that Tarquin Ponsonby-Smythe once shot some yorkshiremans whippet, but this "code war" bollox really needs to be put to bed
Aye indeed, http://www.loverugbyleague.com/news_12553-rugby-league-persecution-in-moroco.html Lots of similar stories from various parts of the world as well...when was the last time any of the Rugby Leagues attemted to disrupt a game of union? 1895? With reguard to England, ppl should seek out an rfu report called rugby in the North, in which those good chaps from twickers discuss the problems facing rugby union in the North of England.
Something we do agree on:
David Hughes is responsible for the malaise the club finds itself in. It his mickey poor judgment and recruitment/retention of individuals who are not up to the job in nearly every area of operations.
Yep, the hard truth is, you've been let down by the guy who owns the club.
This Northerner hopes that Super League continues in London...as Jaybs posted earlier, your club is a bit of an easy target and infighting is something Rugby League is very good at. I dunno, hopefully theres someone out there willing to invest and run the Broncs properly.

So you suggest a SL club plays a Championship club for points in SL ?
