The Chronicler of Chiswic wrote:
And he came to the conclusion that there was no market for top level RL in London, was going to let Leigh have our SL place and provide the money to establish a lower division side in the capital. Personally, I think he was right.

Strangely for him, he did little in the way of marketing and promotion, had a players wife as marketing manager when I first approached the club and, like many before and after when it comes to sports marketing, thought all he had to do was stick posts in the ground and announce a KO time
He may, or may not be right, but the RFL had access to 21,000 London based RL fans who attended the 2011 double header, SKY has between 50,000 and 80,000 London based SL viewers and yet, neither of these organisations have offered/been asked for this data.

For me, if this data exists it will be a decent mix of Ex-pat northerners and transient bar staff....we know the bar staff aren't interested, so it's the ex-pat northerners we need to engage...even if it's for only one game a year when "their home team" are in town.

Sweeping statement that there's no interest in Top level RL in the capital don't paint a true picture.....18 years of inactivity on the marketing front is the main reason we have few fans.....inability to engage the ones we had is the reason we've had fewer and fewer over the last 7 years.

So someone has been offered a contract. Wouldn't that suggest that all this cancerous talk of non-existence, we're doomed etc. is just the usual nonsense posted by people being very unhappy at they way they are treated by the club?

As I said before, patience. We'll all find out at some point.

And no, don't expect a jersey or merchandise to buy for Christmas. It's not happened before, so it probably won't now. There you go, that should hopefully avoid disappointment or any whinging about that subject. :D

We have no backroom staff, no ground, no new signings and we have had very little official news from the club since September 6th.

Nobody here is grinding any axes with anyone or the club in general, but the occasional text message to me explaining very little is frustrating to say the least.

as opposed to us never finding out? Geez, there's a village out there somewhere missing its Guru, that's for sure

So, once we've eventually found out, it'll be more of the same then and we should continue to accept it?

Yet people still make shıt up and second guess what's going on, often being wrong. No-one here is grinding axes? What like you never get personal for example?

Oh I see you're telling us how important you are again by informing us that you get SMSs.

The club has never told us about signings unless they are major ones, like incumbent Australian hookers, or NZ Captains. Those days are gone. Move on.

patience ain't much to ask of someone that won't be going to any games but still continues to bash the club because it didn't listen to him all those years ago, and now come to think of it.

Nah we'll just sit and watch you get wound up expecting something to change for the first time in decades because you deem it wrong, when "unfortunately" it won't change. But we'll just let you get angry.

When the club don't communicate anything there will be speculation.

What we do know, however, is we have no ground, no players, no fans and clowns running the show.

Outstanding
Still doesn't change the fact that the lack of news is disturbing and no amount of sniping is going to change that.

As for being "important"? It all depends who you are talking to.....because according to another poster on here, I am despised by the people at London Broncos. Personally, I don't care, just so long as they sort the loving club out, I really don't give a flying one.
