No...of course. All the volunteers who were told they weren't needed and were generally treated quite badly will be delighted that they have now been asked back

Given this thread is now the 3rd most popular on this forum, I think it proves that certain fans would rather tar and feather me than discuss the real issues at the club for 2014.
Not long now until we can discuss the game and the home attendance figures, both of which have a massive say in the future of London Broncos in 2014 and beyond. I wonder what the more uncertain of them will find to discuss if that proves to unpalatable for them?

Agreed. Just in case you have missed the full 6 pages then OP asked Gutters to tone down his negitive posts, Gutters said no this is a internet forum I can say what I want, someone else agreed with the OP that was a moaner and he is brining the mood down, gutters reponded, and repeat this 20 times.

Essentially what started off life as a moan and has since decended into name calling and general childish stuff. This thread has now reached the end of it's natural life and as such should be put out of it's misery. I have a gun but no bullets!

Would a mod please lock it?

A new fan to the sport makes a very valid point about Gutterfax's constant negativity & criiticism and his response is to continue in the same vein.
Quote
"Hey, theres a perfectly good ignore function on these forums, so instead of whining like a little bitch, I suggest you use that....." End quote.
There is so much more positive stuff going on which GF ignores Scott Moores appearance on Skysports sporting a must have blue club polo.
" He started on me Michael" The bully's defence.
A bit of insecurity paranoia going on here? Get some help.
Great way to encourage new supporters!
Long distance supporters are great, but building up regular supporters who don't have to travel hundreds of miles to get to the Hive (locals) is vital.
I appreciate you've got issues with London's recent history but turning away and rounding on new fans is
as bad as the issues which have embittered you.

Ah...the more the merrier.
The OP makes no valid point.....all it was, as a whine!

Yes, I freely admit to having a downer on the administration and management of the club both past and present and will accept that my negative tone can be quite draining, but I refuse to be shouted down by a bunch of lemmings. It is not my job to encourage "supposed" new supporters, that is the remit of the Club (and apparently, the Owner of the Hive who is in receipt of a marketing budget from the RFL). You are quite correct...we did have a player sporting a club polo shirt on SKY TV......but the sheer fact that you grasp to this like some sort of lifejacket of positivity shows exactly how far we have fallen in our expectations. We are 1/14th or 7% of the comp and I'd be flipping livid if we didn't have players on TV. As for the "must have" polo-shirt....it's not even in the clubs colours. The same colours we went to the effort of changing to some 24 months ago....but hey, at least it's got a club badge on it so it is all good and no doubt will fly of the shelves once we have it in stock.
Seriously, Scott Moore on SKY is brilliant, but in the greater scheme of things, him being on TV will add not one booty to a seat on the 22nd. The way that will be done is through hard work and spending money wisely.....and no, canvasing 2 dozen fans on facebook for ideas doesn't count!

As for me "turning away" new fans. The OP may claim to be a new fan, but their opinion of my style and content of posting would point to them not being a first time visitor to these parts. I will say this though, they have themselves a humdinger of a thread here...well done them!

IIRC correctly, there are 16 other threads on this landing page people could contribute to. Regarding podcasts, games at Hemel, Oxford RL etc....yet this one has shot up the popularity list like a rocket....strange that

Re: FAO Gutterfax : Wed Feb 12, 2014 3:14 am
Do you really feel as a Bronco fan that you shouldn't bother to encourage others to go to a match or become supporters?
Seems a sad position to take.
The 'supposed' fan bit? How do they become genuine fans?
Smacks a bit of superiority to me. I would have thought you would want Broncos to have a future by growing it's fan base.
Just because The Hive have a budget for marketing does not prevent fans from encouraging more support. The club is only there because the fans want it so it is in the fans interest to encourage as many along as possible to improve the atmosphere for themselves and possibly improve the fortunes on the pitch.

As someone whose own support is split with 25% refusing to go to a game at the Hive because it's outside Barnet I appreciate every fan who makes an effort to turn up and make a bit of noise. I doubt anybody has enough money to get those people to change their principles. That you have chosen to use the fact that crowds are down due to this and our relegation to use it to bash the Hive is a sad thing for me and I'm not sure it's benefiting your argument choosing to attack the Hive and TK whilst they are still clearly working hard but still finding their feet. I think a fair number appreciate that they are genuine, honest and making the effort that by the sounds of thing wasn't really there before.

As for the OP, I suspect they read the forum a bit before joining. It's what I did. Who knows this thread may have scared them off and it's their only post .

The reason I think this thread is so long is the concern that someone new is being advised to block one of the best source of information on this forum because they told you that you are being over critical. A fact that you appear to agree with to some extent. Certainly you have a knack of taking every snippet of information and turning it into a negative when us lemmings have a more positive view of it.

I guess if you are correct and Broncos is finished (I know you never said it) then I guess Lemmings is a good analogy for us blindly going to watch them.

For me, I look back 3 months and can't believe Broncos is still an entity for you to criticise. That there is a game this weekend for the Broncos and that all the things you say about the negatives are true but are still on the table and are beginning to be resolved one by one shows that there is a reason to believe Broncos may have a future. No one knows what that future will be but at least it's one that allows fans to go and see their team play.

These are not positives or negatives, just the facts as I see them today.

Whilst you wont admit it, I sense you are waiting for the current vein of positivity to fail so you can say I told you so, my own view is the more people that get behind it the more chance it has of succeeding.

yes I know you will strip this post apart and hyperanalyse it to tell me the finances are screwed, we're all delusional and I'm chosing to ignore the issues but I do genuinely think that Broncos could still be around in two years time and could even be viable as a championship level side with backing behind it to move back to the top table. If anything I guess it's best viewed as the lowest they can go and the only way is up.

As I said in an earlier post the key thing now is to get those tickets available online rather than just by phone and in person, maybe then there will be a reasonable crowd in 2 weeks time.

No. But given I have never said that and brought in excess of 100 fans to their first RL game since 2002, you are again painting a picture of me that is inaccurate. Why is that?

Supposed as in they have patently visited these boards before to get a feeling for my "constant" style of negativity, they have been to games dating back to 2012 but have only just decided to pop in to say hello here. They could be UBER fans for all I care......they post a negative thread about me and some idiots think they must have a valid point

We have been there.....we have done that and believe me, I have a grands worth of T-shirts to prove it in my wardrobe. The point isn't about "bringing a mate"...it's more about the club shutting the love up about brining a mate and actually marketing the game.

The Hive holds 5k and averages 1,500 for soccer....I don't give a love about Barnet FC as they are also simply a means to an end for the owner.

I have had hundreds of opportunities to say that and I never have......that's not why I do what I do. Your failure to see that is down to you not understanding the warnings about this happening that not just me, but many others have presented to the club....none of us are happy about it and I will be more gutted than most when/if it all turns to custard.

I don't disagree with you or what you say, but it doesn't mean I have to be Ronald mac loving donnald and smile all the time and welcome the new old regime with open arms.

Listen to the Pubcast (see thread on here).....people believe we will go down and they are just thrilled we have a club.....I get it, but I don't welcome it, given we could have been so much stronger if they had learnt from their mistakes earlier.

It is not my job to encourage "supposed" new supporters

In other words it's not up to me and I'll leave it to the people who get money to do it. Especially in context of this thread.

I read that to say you have no interest in encouraging new supporters yourself. I'm not talking about how many you've bought in the past as they won't help now.

SK AROUND........I doubt there is a London fan who wants that more than me!

Maybe a more positive outlook would help?

Good.....I hope they stay away from this forum, but if my opinion as to the carnage that is the Management is putting them off attending games than I stand by my earlier statement, they need to harden the hell up!

They appear to have no prior knowledge or care of the management so why would it be putting them off now?

We have been there.....we have done that and believe me, I have a grands worth of T-shirts to prove it in my wardrobe. The point isn't about "bringing a mate"...it's more about the club shutting the love up about brining a mate and actually marketing the game.

No it's about everyone with a vested interest working to achieve the same aim. We both know that fans helping market the Broncos frees up more funds to be spent elsewhere. It's not wasted by communicating with them on Facebook as you put it.

..no, not for watching them or attending games or spending money in the shop/bar......but for doing it with A SMILE ON YOUR FACES! :BEAT:

Ok I get it. I can go as long as I don't enjoy it. got ya!

they are depressing facts

Yep, 99% sure to be in the championship next season, absolutely zero pressure on the players or from the fans. As you like to say, been there, done that and enjoyed it because I wasn't going to games worrying about the result.

we could have been so much stronger if they had learnt from their mistakes earlier.

Too late for might have been. The club is being assimilated into the Hive as we speak, like it or not all will have to live with it. Going on about the past and criticising the current for what happened before wont solve it my friend. Unfortunately we have no control over who pulls the strings although it would be nice to think that the supporters trust could get off the ground and have more of a say.
