I actually won such a bet a few years back in 2011. I predicted, much to the annoyance of our Oker cousins who used to populate (some would say pollute) the NRL forum that we'd get 200k+ for round 1 of the NRL....not one of them paid up, so I donated $250 anyway. Once bitten and all that......but good luck for the season. You're going to need it

Gotnofax only one person offered you up a bet, maybe he should have called it a wager, between 2 people but it's quite obvious you are not willing to take part or stand by your words. That's fine, just say so.
Nobody suggested going into a bookies.

He dint offer me a bet. He hounded me for an unfair bet.......given I simply conveyed my opinion and didn't say " I bet the three pro teams will win all their games against the other 9" his offer and subsequent hounding have done little other than point to him having a gambling problem. Others have chipped in......as I say, its a bit early for panto season.

Good god man, the bloke posted one suggestion that he would offer up a wager of £50 for charity that your predictions would be wrong, not sure if you noticed but it was you that started on about odds how is that hounding you. Quite obvious you have no faith in what you were suggesting it's ok. WHat has any post in Dec 13 got to do with anything apart from your self importance good grief man or what relevance does it have to do with this topic?.

Only on phone as travelling but given I was the first person to release the news other than the barnet fc board, apparently......id hardly call that an own goal
