Less than 7 points.

As much as I love Old Deer Park, it's simply not up to any RL competition standard.

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Re: Home Next Year : Mon Jun 29, 2015 12:37 pm
Well we wouldn't be Broncos if the season didn't involve no home for next year, a financial self destruction, managerial/performance meltdown and if we're really lucky all three in one year.

I think the best possible options is to build a joint 8,000 stadium with skolars

Whilst I can see that may appeal to Broncos, in the long run, would Skolars be interested? They'd presumably get landed with a large share of the running costs and have their crowds rattling around in an 8000 capacity stadium. I can't see that helping them sadly.

Why would we need an 8,000 stadium? Seriously, in 19 years of the top flight and we had less than a dozen occasions where an 8k ground would be full?
Hughes doesn't care so long as he can step away from the club and we don't die......he systematically destroyed the opportunity we had to GROW and lay down roots, then he totally shagged us by moving us again......I think someone may have pointed out the only reason that we were accepted to the Hive was because Blake Solly paid them to take us.......I believe that poster was shouted down.
Trailfinders or Old Deer will suit Hughes perfectly, as he will be able to walk and say he didn't destroy us.

800 stadium maybe, but never 8,000. Thanks Dave :MOON:

Well mate then what do you suggests? 2 years ago they found the hive, unofficially for the 10th time they announced that this would be there new spiritual home ground. Now we are on the move again (with no fans). Obviously it hasn't been working since 1980 (we need our own ground, period)

So my idea (next argument will but where will we get the money from?)

- Go joint with a club like London Skolars build a 4000 seater stand and lay some concrete for standing only at either end of the post officially fit 2,000 at either end and there's your 8,000 stadium.
- Rent the stadium out during the winter months either to rugby or football for further income, have all the junior London grand finals played there every year.
- Have the closet pub to the ground be treated like a Leagues Club (like they have in Sydney, so before and after the game rusted on fans, first timers or curious on lookers can meet and greet and build a fan base)
- Build up a rivalry between Broncos and Skolars, once a year a charity match.
- Use the ground as mini HQ or training ground for when the Kiwis or the Kangaroos come to play.
- Get the RFL to help found the new stadium (I know...... never going to happen)
- Name the stadium Rugby League Park

The stadium would be used every week either by the Broncos and the Skolars. Also could become the officially spiritual home ground of Rugby League in London. Despite the lack of fans for Broncos or Skolars if you build it they will come. But if the club travels around like Gypsy's who's bothered to show up.
Its been mentioned many times before that Rugby League needs a corporate foot hold in London, and I think this is the only way to do it.

Well that's my rant, expecting the massive backlash.

I'm pretty new here, but I believe there used to be a poster with loads of ideas......stuff like flowers o a round-a-bout. Maybe you should search back through his posts to see why we've failed again. I think you'll find it has nothing to do with where we are and more about telling people we are there.

2 Years ago Hughes and his lap dog couldn't even secure as a residency at the Hive until the RFL dropped a wedge in the direction of the owner. The bloke that used to post on here called it a "bribe" but was shouted down by the faithful........he was right an awful lot of the time that bloke!

Partisan wrote:

From Hughes of course.....milk the guilt whilst we can!

And do what exactly? They have 250 stand alone, we have 450 stand alone fans.......what the f would we do with a 8k stadium?

Partisan wrote:

Rent it out? Trailfinders charge 250 quid a game on their pitch......it's not an income stream!

I hope that's a typo.....bloody rainbows everywhere

Been there, done that...see comment about shared fans
Partisan wrote:

Why...because it's got 8,000 seats?

Like Odsal you mean? Never gonna happen

Call it what you want......unless you tell people it's there it makes no odds.

You are David Hughes.....explains a lot that does

Plenty when the team was decent and we had a club...Hughes and his cricketing buddies saw tto the end of that!

I had plenty of ideas..........but in the days when we had a chance of going back up and being a viable entity. Now we have more chance of playing the Skolars every year in 2017 and that's not because they'll get any better.

Hughes is a salesman and a gambler and his sales trait peeeed off the RFL and his gambling saw off the fans........it's not like any of us didn't see it coming.

Ideas for now?
I have plenty, but none of them include 1% of any decisions made by Hughes. I'd take his cash.......if he wants us to survive, but all he'd get is a gold plated season ticket and nowt else.
