"If the cap fits" - that's what I mean gutter fax. Did I say anything personal about you? So why be snide, sarcastic or Mr nasty?

I left the North in 1985, I go back because my parents are still alive and live there. If they were not I would never go north of Watford. I was a Hull season ticket holder 1963 -1986' have supported London from 1999.

I enjoy rugby, wam interested in other people's views, but frankly have now no time for you.

It's a shame you weren't around in the the early days gf .... Sure you'd have enjoyed players busy ups in bar after games at crystal palace and Colin well and writing cheques out for unpaid players ... Ernie clay being told to f... Off from some of the other players !!!! You would have had enjoyed it !

DRONE drone La Carrozza di Hans n off season topic mid season) there was more action on the skolars forum on here.

I accept I am repetitive, but as I have already asked, is it wrong to question the clubs stated aim when that is the thread topic
Hughes is in charge still and very little has changed.......thats all I am saying.

As for flat caps......it wasn't directed at you, but if it fits.[/quote]

Sorry...the cap fitting comment was meant as humour. It would seem you're a tad touchy about your northern roots, so I'll steer clear from now on, but no offence was meant.

As for the thread and it's title, the fact that the club has declared a return to the SL is what it wants and expects leaves it open to question. It's not repetitive to ask "what has changed to make this stated aim a real possibility"?
What has changed?
A few Tweets and a couple of FB posts and some people here are acting like we're Barcelona FC  David Hughes has said he'll back us for a few years.....I could have sworn he said he'd back us for 3 years in 2011 yet "wobbled" after 2 years.....do we trust him now more than we did in 2011? Yes.....it's in the past, but if a dog bites you once he should never be give the opportunity to do it again!

Our Coach has very little in the way of a track record that is quantifiable. He has assisted at 3 NRL clubs but never looked like stepping up and has coached Malta, who I have no doubt the defunct Hammersmith Hills Hoists would beat with ease. He has a 16 game record with 1 win against a 2nd tier Leeds pre challenge Cup final...his side shipped 47 points per game, so no better than Rea had performed in the first 11 games...although we scored 1 more try per game under Grima.
The squad he has assembled, no matter what way you spin it, is made up of journeymen and a scattering of young talent. They have been together for 8 weeks and include a player coming out of retirement after 2 years.

Until a competitive PTB takes place, all we have is mickey and wind, with smoke and mirrors.........I want us to be as competitive as possible and will be delighted if we make the middle 8.....but the reality is, until they KO the season, little of any substance has changed at the club.

By all means be excited. By all means look forward to seeing us win some games, but never lose sight of the fact we are winning against Doncaster, a part time outfit of Plumbers, brickies and bakers. Hardly friggin Wigan, is it and it's Wigan that the fans will come to see....and without the fans....well, ask St David of Swinton how that's worked out for him so far!

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Gutterfax

Accept everything you say re coach, team, opposition etc. but why should I be miserable and doom laden? As for the stated aim - what's the alternative? We aim to finish above last place?

I understand realism and I know how difficult it will be to get promotion, but I would rather go into the season optimistic (deluded?) than with your attitude, which seems to be that you want them to fail so you can post "I told you so......."

I have never gone to any game to watch Wigan!
I have gone to London games to watch London.
I still think the club can achieve the aim, and still reckon the super 8 will provide a shock or 2.
London has always tended to be made up of journeyman sadly it's down to the fact the majority of quality English rl players live in the area where rl is played, trying to get them to move or commute to London is always gonna be a struggle.
How much coaching experience had mac had before he came to us?

I spent nearly 10 years posting solutions.........now the reality is whilst the club are making positive noises, they are again misguided. By all means aim for the stars, but the reality is if we miss, we are buggered and that what's the biggest worry. If we don't go up and fail again in 2016 with considerably less funding from central, where do we look to? SL? I for one think our best chance of getting back up rests on the Million Quid game being a hammering in 2015 and 16 where the worst team in SL mullers the best in the championship.......then the championship chairmen will realise they've been had and we'll be back to 1 up 1 down....then Hughes can buy us back into SL.

Happy to be proven wrong, but I am not in the minority who think that anyone being promoted this year will have more to do with a sl side imploding than anything else.

Hope your wrong, but will try and enjoy the ride. And also not sure even Mr Hughes largesse will keep extending that far!

I hope not, with Jarrod Sammut and a couple of Super League players in the side, including one Jon Wallace - although no longer Matt Gafa.
