On the flip side I wouldn't necessarily have recommended the hooker of the North Sydney Bears who were getting smashed week in week out in 2003 & 04 (in reserve grade) and finished bottom. He tried his luck in the UK with halifax. He ended up in Super League and then was our assistant coach last year! So I never comment on players as you never know how they'll turn out over there. We have made some good signings from this part of the world. Considering the window was almost closed and missed out on a few also. All things considered, with the position we were in, we have come up with some decent players considering all the scrambling that has had to go in the background. What I think will be interesting will be to see who Manly will sign as they have publicly declared they want a prop after Richie Fao'oso's retirement. ie a top team with money and no restrictions. |
