He's obviously got a bit of talent but always seems to be lethargic in the way he plays. Nothing is done a speed. He runs slowly, he doesn't get up of the floor with any conviction or intensity, he doesn't hit in the tackle or even contact going forward.

Those sorts of attributes can be coached into players with increased fitness and pressure training sessions- but they dont seem to have been taken on board.

If you watch Clubbs last ditch tackle on R Paul in Scotland Clubby had no right to be where he was. What he had done was track the play from the previous play the ball behind the defensive line and made himself a last line of defence resulting in a try saving tackle. All the work was done off the ball. You would never see that with Mick. As I say with a bit more effort at the PTB on Thur he could have saved Leigh on the last try.

That the difference between good players and average players

I'm not missing the point, even as a squad player he's not even close to being good enough to step into a side currently sitting in the playoff positions in Super League. I'm sure there is somebody in the academy who can offer more than he can and I don't understand why we are wasting more than nothing on his contract. He was cack against Fev so imagine what would happen if we were forced to play him in a big match in SL?

Im inclined to agree, unless he's prepared to bust a gut for 2 years getting his fitness and strength up to SL level i dont see the point in him being with us.

Matt Gafa joined us as a utility back/second row who could act as a back-up goal kicker. I thought he looked painfully mediocre at times in his first season, but he's improved beyond all recognition since and he was older than Mick Nanyn when he joined us. Perhaps there's reason to believe Nanyn can achieve the same?
