At the last franchise application we got a point for averaging a top 8 finish over the previous three seasons (6th - 2005, 7th - 2006, 9th - 2007). Will we get this point for the next franchise application?

We need to apply again in 2011 - so (assuming we stay 9th):
9th - 2008
9th - 2009
6th or better is need for 2010

With serious question marks over our funding, I remain very skeptical that we can attract the calibre of player needed to achieve a 6th place finish.

I don't think the RFL will look too kindly on us if we get fewer points than the previous application. I don't think the idea of franchises is for clubs to go backwards.

I wish the club would give us some good news. Our situation gets more depressing every time you think about it…

That top 8 criterion would have been based on a 12 club league, so now there are 14 maybe it will become top 9?

If so, is it "good news"?

Will it not also depend on home attendances? as well as position. We all know the RFL are fully in support of a London Franchise, but their case is becoming weak except for the development of the amateur and school's game in the South.

It's all a fix anyway. If the RFL still want QRL come 2012 they'll squeeze us in.

With your rugby union team getting attendances of around the 12k mark. Do the thing the club should do more to try and possibly attract some of those fans to watch both code's i.e discounted tickets for season ticket holders on the ru side ?
