Simple as!

Can't win without him.

I am not discounting the absence of Robertson or Clubb, but Gower is the key to any chance of playoffs.

It is not just his skills as playmaker, but also his leadership and seniority, and his ability to inspire the younger players.

He was on when were were 3 tries down and Widnes running through our left side turnstyle

I would argue he was responsible for going wide early in our tackle count. He takes the second tackle and throws it wide before we build.

He does and i am sure he wasnt 100% happy with his own performance - but with a few honourable exceptions were where the rest of the team?

Apart from one forced pass, Gower wasnt the one dropping the balls.

As bad as we played we still should have been in the game if it werent for two balls dropped over the line and the worst piece of finishing from the left centre (was it alex hurst?) that I think I've witnessed in top flight football. He looked like an in-experienced prop who had never seen the line in cocking up that try.

It was Will Lovell, Hurst was at full back by then
