Graham Murrray : Fri Aug 02, 2013 11:41 am
A nice touch to have a minute's silence for Graham Murray - a sad loss to the sport. It's a shame that the Club couldn't afford the same recognition to one of our own former coaches, Tony Gordon, who passed away earlier this year, rather than a derisory couple of lines in the programme. Those who were around at that time won't need reminding of his popularity and influence. For those who weren't, in another period where the London Crusaders were about to go to the wall due to inept management, he produced a side that not only got to the Premiership Final but did it playing an attractive brand of rugby that was only surpassed by the Broncos team in the last year at Brentford.
When Brisbane came in, he got the boot in favour of Gary Grienke. Proof that sometimes even an organisation as good as Brisbane can make terrible mistakes!
