Betting tip - St Helens v Hull KR : Sat Sep 14, 2013 6:53 am
In the history of this fixture both teams have won 7 times each, with 1 draw.This season Hull KR have won on three separate occasions;
28/6/2013 - St Helens 12 Hull KR 24
20/04/2013 - Hull KR 26 St Helens 18
07/04/2013 - Hull KR 22 St Helens 14
Hull KR recently won away at Leeds and have also won at Catalans and Hull. They deserved to win away at Wigan and again at the Magic Weekend but were cheated twice by the video ref. One try was offside by a mile and got a public apology from the ref whilst the other was grounding on the line for out! They even ran Warrington close away before fading at the end.
They will be well rested for today with 8 changes: In the backs, winger David Hodgson and centres Liam Salter and Graeme Horne join the travelling party as Sandercock omits Omari Caro, Chris Heil and Josh Guzdek. The majority of changes come in the pack as hooker Josh Hodgson and prop Adam Walker are joined by second rowers Con Mika, Cory Paterson and Mickey Paea in the 19-man squad
In this fixture St Helens come in with 6 wins from 7 and in their best form of the season.
However, if we looked at their last seven home games we would see four losses to Widnes, Hull KR and Warrington twice, a late win against a deliberately weakened Wigan and a two try win v Bradford. Only the Broncos were soundly beaten - and even then we had the best of the play for the last 20 minutes.
I see St Helens as beatable at Langtree Park and I do not see them running up a huge win that is for sure.
The Weather is judged to be about 14 degrees and cloudy, so it should be a little more exciting than the dull goal line drop out fests than shown in the past two days.
So my five star tip is:
Hull KR +14 (evens)
But I am taking Hull KR as a straight winner, perhaps a two star tip:
Hull KR to win (4/1)
You might even get more on the betting exchanges if you push your luck
I would have this game down as St Helens -6 and Hull KR 2/1 so it is a 'value bet' in my eyes.
Cheers
