Realistic From Todays Opener At Widnes : Sun Feb 16, 2014 6:25 am  

Will be on my way to Widnes within the hour & was wondering what I would like to see us achieve from todays game.
I would love to see us pinch a win.
Certainly not impossible but unlikely.
So, I hope we can achieve the following targets :

(1) A 70%+ completion rate.

(2) To not concede more than 20 points.

If we can reach these benchmarks then I feel we are making steps in the right direction.
I spoke to our new A/C at the forum last week & was impressed with what he had to say. He is under no illusions as to the enormity of our task to avoid relegation this season but said until he has got the full squad together, he will be concentrating on getting his current squad doing the basics well. Let's hope he has had a good week in training & had success in getting this across to the players.

Realistically 30 point defeat. The team is too young to cope at this level. Need the new faces in to provide some steel and guile.

What we need is the right attitude. Never give up and never give in. Resilience!

We need to buckle down and work hard and hopefully when the new signings come the results will follow. Grow as a team, no more surrender Sundays!

Most bookies givings us 26 points on the handicap. If we can compete and keep it close we will have done well.

1. Evidence that the defence is far more effective and less prone to breaking down.
2. To be playing an attractive brand of football.
3. To be breaking through the line.
4. Scoring at least three tries.
5. Playing for the full 80 mins.
6. Conceding no more than 4 tries.
7. Looking like we do have a plan B if plan A doesn't work

What a waste of half a day that's been.
BLO#DY TRAIN SERVICES !!!
After starting this thread earlier this morning, I checked Virgin Trains only to find out my train had been cancelled & there were no trains running up North from Euston until after 11'o clock.
A replacement Bus Service would be running between Euston & Milton Keynes where I could start my journey. It added 40 minutes but I decided to give it a go.
Got to Euston, found the Virgin Representatives & was told no Replacement Bus Service running yet & I was to take a train to Watford Junction & pick up a Replacement Bus from there.
Half an hour train journey & when I get to Watford Junction, guess what ? No replacement Bus Service & when it does finally start, it will take 1 1/2hr's to 2hr's to get to Milton Keynes. I could flippin walk quicker.
Back to Euston & abused the Virgin Staff.
Train back out from London to Kent & start queuing for my Bus. When it arrives, a bloke tries to push in at the front. I stop him, explain the error of his ways & that we are not queuing for fun.
THEN THE ARSEH#LE STARTS ARGUING. !!!!!
That the biggest mistake he'll make this month. Didn't know I could swear like that, I let him have it with both barrels. I was willing him to get physical, cos I would have taken great pleasure in decking him !!!

As for today it'd be a real achievement to limit them to 20 on the I-Pitch. I'll go for a 32-16 defeat

What a bummer, BB. You must be fuming.

My hopes for today are that we don't get hammered by more than 30 points and no injuries.

Oh, and I hope the people travelling by road have better luck than Billy.

Thanks for the votes of sympathy.
After much persuasion, Virgin have agreed to give me a full refund & I have a fridge full of Stella to start ready to drink. (Things look better already)
