Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.

Which players are staying? : Mon Jul 14, 2014 10:11 am
So we know that of the 31 contracted players, 23 will be moving on.

I think Slyney, Wallace, Keyes, Burnett & Everett have been confirmed as staying, so who are the other 3 from the existing squad? (I would imagine it's Wicks, Woodburn-Hall and Macani).

Any ideas? (think Farrar had another year left on his contract, but I get the vibe that he hasn't impressed).

Macani, Wicks & Woodburn-hall are all confirmed for next year.

Looks like Dixon, Dollapi, Krasniqi, McMeeken, Lovell etc are all on their way then.

That's a much bigger clearout than I imagined. Would be a shame to lose Krasniqi, Bishay, Dollapi, McMeeken, etc.

Joey has stated that he has already told 8 or 9 players that they are not required next year

Is this him being ruthless and finally some one having the gumption to get rid of dead wood ?

Let's be honest of the overseas signings (albeit last minute), non have been a shining light (possibly Vea and Slyney excepted), I would have said they'd be the first to be shown the door. Loanees speak for themsleves. High earners, well Moore, bye bye. And then there's the young fellas, many of whom were never ever going to make it at SL level, sad but true. If we could keep hold of Cook and get back Greenwood, Foster and Minns, that would be a coup.

Not sure "dead wood" is the appropriate phrase here,

Surely we would have wanted to keep Dixon, Krasniqi, Cook, McMeeken, Lovell Bish and Dollapi?

Guess we'll see if the Londoners in the above list are SL standard, if they get signed up by SL clubs.

Thomas Minns, Alex Foster, James Duckworth (Leeds Rhinos - Loan Return),
James Cunningham (Hull FC - Loan Return),
Joe Greenwood (Wigan Warriors - Loan Return),
Carl Forster (St Helens - Loan Return),
Atelea Vea (St Helens),
Denny Solomona (Castleford Tigers).

That eight players which are leaving, I assume he includes loans.

2014 OOC: Saeed Agboke, Jordan Atkins, Mike Bishay, Harvey Burnett, Matthew Cook, Kieran Dixon, Josh Drinkwater, Ben Farrar, George Griffin, Olsi Krasniqi, Will Lovell, Nesiasi Mataitonga, Mike McMeeken, Scott Moore, Jamie O'Callaghan.

By looking at this list, that's 23 names altogether on it's own.

Perhaps dead wood was harsh on Dollapi and Krasniqi (Dixon is itching to go I am sure).

The new era of Super League has accelerated the dog eat dog approach of clubs, Salford in particular, as the emphasis now is all about winning, keeping SL status, so maybe clubs will focus less on academy and youth and more on immediacy of results.

So London Broncos will lose players they have cultivated through the junior ranks as well as the odd overseas players, who will move on to be squad players in Super League.

But London Broncos themselves are at an advantage – they are only one of 4 (?) full time teams in the Championship and with that, I hope, comes the ability to attract the better Championship players from a part time environment to a fulltime environment. Hendo should have some inside tracks here.

So Broncos should strengthen (relative to the level they are playing in) at the expense of others. Whether that equates to a reasonable crack at a SL return is questionable, but what I hope it does result in is a side that won’t be bullied and will tough it out in what will be a tough league.

But the problem of attracting northern based players to London on reduced salaries would be exacerbated I would have thought

The point being you look to decent standard part time players and look to maximise their potential with a full time contract.
