Reading some of the other championship boards it wold seem that we are expected to make the middle 8 next season, basically because we are full time. Bradford, Leigh and another side will then join us in the 888 along with the also rans from the SL. Question is, who will that be a d Which of the 4 offers the best chance of a championship club winning the million pound game?

'Fax or Fev' I shouldn't wonder, though personnaly I think we'll have a task and a half getting to the top 4.

At this point its a guess who'll be in bottom four of SL. Top four of five of SL will probably be the usual suspects and the bottom four will have more of the usual suspects there or just avoiding it. Given we are no longer there the extra game against Catalan could have an impact. For the benefits of this thread I'll go with... lights blue touch paper and stands back.....Wakefield, Salford, Hull KR and Widnes in the bottom four.

And best chance for a Championship side in the play off game - Wakefield.

For me it's 4 from widnes, wakey, salford, fc , hkr and castleford.
i believe that a match v wakefield will be the best chance for a championship team to get promoted.

Agree on Wakefield.

As for the other three ....

Saints will be stronger, Wire/Leeds/Wigan always up there, Hull KR/ Catalans (Carney effect)/Salford/Hudds to make up the 8.

Leaving Widnes, Wakey, Cas and Hull. As I write those teams down it seems improbable, but ..... and some juicy games in the middle 8.

Interesting castleford has been mentioned here .. I wonder if daryl can get top 6 with all those bronco boys!!!:)

More interesting than just hoping you can avoid finishing bottom again?

It's only the last couple of years of ineptitude that we've worried about bottom place.

Only a couple of hours and we'll find out if it's Halifax or Cumberland team as the starter.

A quick glance at the teams who finished 9-12 this year, who will all have improved slightly for 2015 whilst we've stepped down a peg, shows that they collectively defeated us by an average score of 46-15 over the 8 games last year. We got close to Wakefield in atrocious conditions, but in reality we were easy-beats in the rest of the games.
No matter if we defeat everyone, including Bradford and Leigh twice, finishing on 44 points in 2015 it is the ability to defeat 2 of the teams from SL (OR THE SAME TEAM TWICE) that will get us back into Superleague.

If the Championship team that makes the Million Quid Game get's hammered for a couple of seasons, how many of these "non-events" will the RFL permit before they change the format to 1 up/1 down again? Of all the teams I saw relegated in my time as a London Broncos supporter, only Halifax and Leigh didn't "bounce back". Salford, Widnes and Castleford all managed to come back and HKR seem to have done OK.

As for Fax and Leigh, both clubs seem to have benefited from their time outside of the franchised comp, putting down decent foundations for sustainable growth.....I don't see licencing as a bad thing and I suspect it may well be back in the pretty near future. Let's hope we get an invite, because I really can't see us getting back by any other means.

I'm giving the new system two years, or three depending on how patient Sky are, before we have another reorganisation. As far as the bottom four are concerned, outside of Wakey I think that it could be anyone other than the big five of Saints, Wigan, Wire, Leeds and Catalans.
