Gareth Moore : Sun Oct 04, 2015 4:26 pm
Listening to the commentary from the game the guy doing the Co commentary (dave woods I think) , well he seem to think Moore had signed for us next season.

Apparently Garth Moore has said on his twitter account that this is his last game for Featherstone.
If so what does this mean for Barthau and Keyes, if it's true of course as we have signed Leatherbarrow as well. So what would it mean for them two

Personal if true it could be a very good signing to run out back line, when you listen how he leads Featherstone around the pitch.

Definitely not Dave Woods.

Hope you're right about Moore, he's just got MoM.

Commentators also seem to think that this is Jamie Thackray's last game.

Thought Thackray was only announced as staying a few months ago

Not the dave woods from BBC . I think they said he was an ex coach from some team up north but didn't hear who as the bloody dog started barking at the silly cow next day lol.

As for JT, I'm sure he signed for next year to. And said he was looking forward to a full pre season under Hendo and a new line up. Unless he's changed his mind and going home, or had an offer from a club up there.

Every indication has been that Moore is signing for Halifax. There was a lot of very confused stuff coming from the commentators on that game (barring Martin Overton, who is always excellent).

Gaz Moore had a blinder today. By some distance his best performance in a Rovers shirt.

Shame he couldn't do it earlier in his time with us.

I'd heard that he was Halifax bound.

heard he turned down a big offer from London because of his business commitments and then you had to look elsewhere re leatherbarrow.
Rumour is fax as he wanted part time only.

Rubbish. Hendo nor the club wanted him anywhere near.

Look at his career, he has a habit of being punted by every club he plays for. Lazy and disliked by team mates and coaches everywhere.

Why would Fev not be hanging on to him?

To be fair I don't get the impression he has been especially disruptive or disliked by team/mates/coaches at Fev, it's more that his really good displays have been only occasional. He's had some really good games, but plenty where he's been quiet too, and not unlike most scrum halves at this (or any) level, he has usually needed a dominant pack to look good. He's a decent Championship-level scrum half, there's a definite lack of quality organising-type scrum halves at the second tier - I can't name a stand-out one in the Championship to be honest as the likes of Brierley & Sammut are different types of player. By all accounts his replacement at Fev will be Thackeray, who again has different kind of qualities and weaknesses. I'd probably prefer Thackeray but you could make a case either way.
