Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."

For all those people now faced with the prospect of having to self isolate and wondering how to spend the time, can I suggest something to do that can be interesting, enjoyable, educational and cheap, either for you or maybe for an older relative or neighbour. It is to start writing a novel based on your own life and times. This is something that I started doing back in November 1988 and have thoroughly enjoyed.
It was inspired by three things: firstly my interest and knowledge of the sport of rugby league, its history and its many characters, secondly having my family tree going back to 1777 along with the old saying about work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller".
Based on my experiences in over 30 years I have now written some brief general guidelines and advice on how to do it. Contact me on wgeofflee@gmail.com and I'll send you them.
However if you prefer to read one of my novels first, can I suggest the sixth one to start with. It is called "Three Good Years" and has a background of work, family life, saving the NHS and Rugby League all set during the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons.
It is available from London League Publications. Visit them at http://www.llpshop.co.uk. Click on Books and then click on Fiction.
