Leigh would stay up, to be whipping boys for next season.

Tony Smith is calling it for to be removed this season? I am not convinced, as Leigh have proved they are not prepared for Super League, did Smith say this last season? when no team had ever been relegated with the record we had, and Huill KR were lucky to stay up themselves!

Again no sign yet of Ralph Rimmer??

I would have thought Tony Smith would have called for relegation to be removed for season 2022. So as to save his clubs ass.

Think you are right Vic. However, can they get away with ripping of Leigh by reducing their share of the pie again? Would they say to Toulouse they get no central funding if they get promotion? They only need to pull up the drawbridge until they go back to franchising again. That is definitely the best way for the selfish & parochial SL teams to protect themselves. The game clearly isn't strong enough for P&R.

Rimmer apparently on an intensive course in how not to be a numbnut, not going very well it seems.

Re: Toulouse : Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:30 pm
Now it gets interesting with the need to quaranteen on return from France nolonger applicable from Sunday. Still think Halifax might be safe but you would expect Batley & York to have to go to Toulouse. If those clubs have not ensured their players are vaccinated, does that amount to failing to play the game & a 24 point defeat + 2 point deduction? Will the RFL just pretend nothing has changed & sweep it all under the carpet?

What with the shambles of the World Cup, how the Championship has been run this season & the unacceptable number of SL games cancelled without investigation or penalty, those that run our fine game need to be called to account.

Still feel they will go for no relegation at the end of this season, and one team promoted, no one likes seeing teams relegated, but would it be right to put Leigh through another season like this, especially if they get a lower cut of the revenue share?

The only surprise is they haven't included York in September. Fair decision for Halifax but Batley will have had enough time to vacinate their squad twice & York more so by the time the games come around. Hughes ought to kick off but doubt he will.

What do we expect from Ralphy at the RFL? the whole sport is in a mess! Players going out on loan is a joke, one clubs players has been at 7 clubs on loan? See Saints signing they made from us, is yes out on loan!

If we had been smarter about the timing of our refusal to travel to France and, in particular, how
we articulated it that might have been received better and had less fallout.

Couldn't agree more, but that does not excuse the shocking decision to cancel the Batley game when they should be able to go by match day. Seems the "integrity of the competition" is only applicable to Broncos this season.
