David Hughes and co really messed up with their comments regarding this game. IF they had just claimed the feeling unsafe to travel earlier on, the walkover game could have been avoided.
I still think they should lodge an appeal as to the first outcome, but just noticed Toulouse offered to pay the costs for the double header and the tv production in return for 90% of the tv income.
I reckon they were at a loss then.

Maybe accepting a 0-24 defeat isn't such a bad idea. Could have been a lot worse if we'd gone and faced them on the pitch.

I see Toulouse are playing their next game overseas.

Surely David Hughes should be approaching the RFL and even though agreeing to the rules at the start of the season , demanding again that London should be handed an even playing field.as rules seem to be made up as you go along this season in regards to fixture rearranging.

Sadly there is no evidence the numbnuts that made that rather dumb decision will want to be shown to be wrong & change it. One suspects losing face is not high on their agenda.

Principles are another thing that Hughes can ill afford but will spend money on anyway.

Re: Toulouse : Wed Jul 07, 2021 7:42 am
So it looks like Toulouse have 4 home games left, Dewsbury on 24th July, Halifax on 14th August, Batley on 28th August & York on 11th September. Looks like only York are at risk of having to go to France as you would expect those clubs to have double jabbed their players by end of August. I know of people that have been jabbed twice in 8 weeks. In any event test & release reduces quarantine to 5 days 1 of which is a Sunday so part time players would not be making much more of a sacrifice than they would have done going to Toronto.

The sticking point is the 7 day quarantine period arriving in France. Can't find anything on French Interior Ministry's website suggesting that will soon be lifted so York are likely to get away with it too. Makes the decision regarding Broncos even more stupid when covid was more a risk than it is now.

Re: Toulouse : Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:59 am
With Govt looking at travel pathways to US & EU, should Halifax 14th Aug, Batley 28th Aug & York 11th Sept be preparing to travel?

The French have also waived quarantine from UK if fully vaccinated, reduced waiting time from 2nd jab to 7 days & no essential travel rules.
Players 25+ have been able to vaccinated from 8th June so 2nd jab 3rd Aug so good to go from 10th Aug. 21+ dates are 16th Jun, 11th Aug & 18th Aug. This assumes clubs have ensured their players at the earliest opportunity, which they might not to make sure they don't have to go.

Halifax would seem to be safe but Batley & York will be at risk if the returning isolation is removed for vaccinated people. Having said that, isolating 5 days on return, should not be a barrier for players participating in elite sport.

Be interesting to see what decision the Govt makes in next couple of weeks. The RFL could of course just brush it under the carpet.

The way Super League teams are pulling out of matches, it's a complete disgrace, the way The RFL have treated us, it was tough enough to take the win awarded to Toulouse, but then how many weeks after? take 2 points off us, and make us pay Toulouse a settlement payment, is a Farce! Has it been decided, Toulouse must be promoted at all costs.

Time for someone to get Missing Posters printed, 'MISSING RALPH RIMMER' he never seems to be seen or heard!

I certainly want to see Toulouse promoted at all cost because I want to listen to SL teams whinging about having to go to France twice a year. My gut feeling is SL & the gormless Rimmer are praying Fev turn Toulouse over this weekend.

My suspicion is that should Toulouse take the promotion place. Super League will remove promotion and relegation for this season using covid as the excuse.
Leigh would stay up, to be whipping boys for next season.
