They still stuffed us with their reduced 2 year offer! waiting for their next demands! Problem is no one else seems interested in taking over from Sky.

There seems less and less games on Sky.
For those who have sky but not the sports package Sky Sports Mix usually shows a game every week/other week. At the moment it’s wall to wall The Hundred which does not bode well. Clearly those marketing that game have done their job.

Agree BT it has been a very successful start with some very good crowds although I suspect very expensive marketing. But Cricket like football & Union are played across the UK so a great footprint for sponsors & broadcasters & attractive on that basis.

Doubt League has the capacity to keep up & clearly isn't likely to attract those big sponsorship deals.

Sky are not a channl to push viewing figures, BARB are the body that publish TV viewing figures, but the last I saw was the opening weekend in March, when Catalan played Hull KR, and won with a golden point drop goal, and then all BARB issued was that it was the highest Super League viewing figures for 15 years.

I've noticed the Barb website has become less "free" user friendly. I'd expect that when SKY dropped their offer for the top tier, it was because there was a loss of competitive bidders (no BT) and/or a drop in viewing figures.
As I've always said, attending games is a habit and the covid thing has broken that habit. Rangers fans in Scotland packed Ibrox to see the Hun lose on Wednesday.....so they've less if an aversion to science and I suspect premiership football will be OK....but without a doubt, a RE-SET button has been pressed and getting fans back to games is a tough job.....that said, 10k is the rough average for the french in st Helens ..so the crowd wasnt that bad but a pointer to maybe 25-30% of regulars need info to be coaxed back

The hundred has been brilliantly marketed. I watched the game on TV at Old Trafford the other night. The crowd looked healthy, the sponsors were big names on the shirts and around the ground. They've made the game exciting, all channels seem to be showing it, its colourful, mixed audience, music and bands playing........

Well done to England cricket.

Ps a guy across the road from me asked me the other day if I fancied going to watch a game. I didn't even know he liked sport never mind cricket.

It has been strongly aimed at the young in the ground, they have created an excitement, but I am not convinced on TV? I do not like the BBC screen during the game, so much on it, but they are not aiming at me.

Castleford's proposal to scrap reserve team football, and instead have a 6 or 7 aside for TV? I just don't think it will work, I read a comment in a general sports magazine last night, the writer from London, said he turned into Sky Super League by accident!, the game was quite good, but those two strong Northern co-commentators lead me to switch it off!. RU get it right every time?

Agree late yesterday afternoon it was finally decided no change for next season, there will be one team relegated, and one promoted from the £1 Million pound game! quite right, you can't change the rules to allow one team to not be relegated. Sky seem quite keen on two divisions of 10 teams, as Super League, and they would cover games from the lower divsion, more money??
