If Part Time Broncos....... : Tue Aug 17, 2021 11:56 am
Would the best approach be to surround the best of our young talent with Aussies rather than northerners? As Halfdan said on another thread, work permits might be an issue so perhaps we need to look at those Aussies who have or could obtain British Passports. May be a job for Tony Rea there!!

I know from football it is easier to get a work permit for non EU players than EU so maybe the rules have changed. But of course a nice new blue British Passport should make this redundant.

This may be the latest agreed RFL/Govt qualification process which might make part time difficult for Aussi Aussies.

Agree! Whitehaven had a superb young Aussie on Sunday, but no one has given as much to our club as Chris Hankinson this season, every game ge has stood out and his goal kicking is superb! Goon on Chris how he has been patient at Championship Clubsm just not with usK really hope Wigan give him his real opportunity next season.

Hankinson has been a class act. Very consistent. He’s no spring chicken though and I wonder if he will get. Chance at Wigan. My guess is he’ll end up at Leigh like pretty much every other available player.

He's 27 so you may be right but would be good to see him paired with Mickie next season for Wigan.

Until we know what funding/divisions are available in 2022, there's no point in planning for anything.
No doubt doddery dave and his animal menagerie are better informed than we are, but given the lack of anything approaching information or customer service emanating from the club, I suspect they're resigned to 2022 being "ground zero"
I'd add that if we are part time next year, playing in (and paying for) any stadia bigger than 1,500 capacity is an absolute act of insanity

Well we have seen plenty of those over the last 41 years though mostly in the last 10.

If Lobster Boy and Monkey have convinced doddery Dave that £200k for a stadium that holds 9k is a good idea because they can fill it, I'd expect they will get a visit from the serious fraud office and Dave's relatives will have him declared mentally unfit and take his bank card off him come easter 2022
