Yes HT I think you’re probably right. Let me put it another way. You have one more game to attract fans and make some money. Do you publicise a beer tent/ meet and greet/ whatever or do you attract reticent fans by announcing you are stepping down a level and have written off the play offs? It was a tough sell as it was. If it wasn’t for the 150 or so from Fetherstone the ground will be empty.

Yes. I don’t get the sense he was desperate to leave the South but if he knew the calibre of the squad was on a sharp downturn, he was on a hiding to nothing with the negative impact on his hard won reputation and earning potential.
As I said before the only upside is we don’t need to concern ourselves with who new manager will be or who new players will be. We already know. Sigh.

Perhaps he might be able to use his contacts at Coventry to poach us a few players

Not sure there is much evidence of the club thinking outside the box since Lenegan & Mark Evans came up with the Quins project & that alienated plenty.

A hundred at best....I'd say maybe 4 dozen regulars didn't come back. We had a steady first few years there.....then ILs money ran out and Evans left.....

We had a steady first few years because we retained the bulk of the playoff qualifying Broncos squad from Griffin Park. Wasn’t built on and when Evans ( probably our one true supporter in the H********s hierarchy) left, well it was the beginning of the end.

We picked up more Quins fans than we lost broncos fans.....that was my point.
