Devastating news. Can’t fathom what he’s gone through, going through and will go through both in the near future and long term. He’s a true warrior for not just picking himself up, literally, once but twice and go through that horrendous rehab and self doubt. I genuinely don’t think most people could comprehend the level of grit, determination and sheer guts that takes. And having the sheer cheek to give his injuries the FU and then to go on and score 2 tries in the 2018 Grand Final mere weeks after getting back into the first team?

What a player. What a man.

Shame, wish him all the best in future whatever he ends up doing. Sometimes tough decisions have to be made for the longer term benefit and thta is exactly what it sounds like- I hope it works out for him.

Really sad to hear that Dom Manfredi has had to call time on his RL career
As an outsider I always thought that prior to his injuries that he was going to be world class and it's such a shame that he won't be able to full fill that talent through such cruel injuries.
He was a very good winger though and was a player that had everything within his game to make it in the NRL

The Rhinos have endured something similar with Stevie Ward, (although for different reasons) and he is also a massive loss to our game as he was also was a great player that could have gone on to being a world class back rower.

Yeah, I have almost no doubt he would have been a star without injuries, even with them he had a good career albeit stop start and now cut short.
I’m really gutted for the lad, hope he enjoys the rest of his life and has success in whatever he chooses to do next.

Really? Did you even read the press release? It talks about all his achievements etc.

I can't speak for the lad, but I doubt he'd swap that GF night for anything. It's the type of thing that money can't buy. I certainly wouldn't anyway.

I'm saying an RL career can unexpectedly end very quickly. I hope he has managed to save and is supported by the club in any way they can. I hope he has career opportunities. It must be daunting being suddenly unemployed with 6 years less rugby money than he would have planned. I don't know his specific situation, but most of them put education/qualifications on the backburner to focus on rugby.

Good luck in the future Dom and, if you read this and are passing through Standish (Robin Hill) then id love some raspberry ripple!

In all seriousness though, if it wasnt for injuries he would be England/GB 1st choice winger

Top player,
Top bloke

Surely a well paid and supported role in player welfare should be offered to Dom?

Really gutted for Dom, a true legend of the club and, IMO up with the likes of Richards, Dallas, Offiah and Robinson as one of the greats. Hard as nails on the pitch, a gentleman off it. Thanks for everything you've done and have given to the club. Wish you a speedy return to pain free health and good luck for the future
