You've characterised my reasons for being underwhelmed entirely on me hating IL and KR - which simply isn't true. You've based your entire premise over the last god knows how many pages on a lie. I hate to break this to you given your stance (based on a lie), but people can form opinions based on the individual merits or otherwise of particular actions. You seem to be having trouble with that.

I mentioned you hating IL and KR once based on your comments after the fans forum when you accused them of lying (myself being one of those fans treated like a mug) and multiple posts in which you've slagged them off. I have simply asked you for reasons (and had done multiple times prior to me mentioning IL and KR) why you are underwhelmed about a successful assistant coach being promoted to head coach but you haven't provided any (other than wanting a pie in the sky appointment) so I'll presume you don't actually have any other than the usual crap that we normally see from people that won't give the club any credit for anything whatsoever but are quick to jump on them should something go wrong.

As someone on the other site said: "6 out of 7 grand final wins with the academy, fixed our defence on his return as assistant, has relevant qualifications.

People would be foaming at the mouth if it was announced that a Aussie assistant who was responsible for a clubs brilliant defence and when coaching the reserves won 6 out of 7 finals was coming on board.

Give the guy a chance."

See you've done it again - think I hate IL and KR based on one particular issue, then followed it up with a generalisation that because I have a difference of opinion on the appointment, I "won't give the club any credit for anything". No wonder you've been struggling with someone having an alternative point of view when you put people into a particular camp on so little evidence. Let's face it, no mater what my reasons you put me in the "hate IL/KR", "won't give the club any credit for anything" team because my opinion on this is different from yours.

I can't help you if you have a problem with me having a different view from you. Others disagree with me, stated so and why, but none have felt the need to lie about me hating individuals at the club or not giving the club credit for anything. They didn't feel the need to make things up because we had differing opinions.

Peet's only been away from the club for about a year over the last 13 so it wouldn't have been that difficult.

Hopefully the club considered Ciraldo at Penrith but I doubt it.

Any idea what happened with Peet at Sale? He was barely there long enough to have a serious impact.

Guess I'm not quite convinced of that - I know its being sold as such but Wane won't have taken the role without significant influence. As I said in an earlier post there will need to be clear boundaries established in order for this to work.

I’m not fully convinced either being totally honest but I fully agree, there has to be boundaries and limitations both ways

The same level of euphonic response by some supporters is no different to that of three seasons ago when Lam succeeded Wane as Head Coach.

However, many other supporters will be disappointed that a more experienced and proven successful Rugby League Head Coach has not been appointed, especially one from down under.

But, I supposed with the present poor financial state of the club, beggars cannot be choosers!

It’s not really euphoric but I see your point. That team (bar Briers) isn’t who I’d have chosen to be brutally honest, you’re description re disappointed fans is fairly accurate and I’d be an outright liar if I didn’t say I was a little disappointed we hadn’t gone for more experience.

That being said this coaching team, whether it’s who we’d chosen or not, whether we’re disappointed or euphoric deserves our full backing and support. Ultimately we don’t have a crystal ball, would a proven coach have worked? There’s a chance, and a good one at that, it wouldn’t. Will this work? I’d say there’s about that same chance.

You may be right with your last comment, as disingenuous as it was intended to be. But if this is who we have gone for, and it works, it’s an absolute master stroke from IFL and KR. And even you would have to admit it.

My take is, I'll be satisfied if we at least play some reasonably attractive attacking rugby, that makes going to games a pleasure to look forward to, not something undertaken more out of a sense of duty. Lets face it, ball in hand on the attack, we were terrible this year. Opposing defences coped with us with ease. In fact, it was probably the easiest gig they had all year.

No exaggeration to say that I’m struggling to think of a worse attacking team I’ve seen in my 30+ years watching the game. I watch football and rugby and I’ve sat watching Wigan Athletic at times thinking ‘we’ve no chance of a goal here’ especially in the premier league at places like Old Trafford or Anfield but the last few months of this season watching the rugby was the first time I’ve sat thinking the same in this sport. It’s far easier to score a try than it is a goal in football, so you accept the odd 0-0 here and there in football but it was a weird feeling in the rugby. I sat at Hull away and the Leeds semi fully expecting the games to finish 0-0. That Leeds semi probably would’ve done had Halsall been on the wing.

It should be an absolute doddle for Peet to improve on that. He’s probably in a fortunate position in some ways because if we average 15-16 points per game next season, the fans will think he’s a genius.

I don't think there's any danger of the fans thinking Peet is a genius, and although, as you say, It should be an absolute doddle for Peet to improve on that, realistically, Peet is going to be hampered by a lukewarm reception from the start. For my part, I'll wish the coaching team all the best and hope for better things next season (can hardly be worse, surely?), and I am heartened by the inclusion of Briers.
