Given that the disciplinary have given the ruling below, does anyone know why he hasn't been punished for what was clearly a dive to try and get an oppsition player sent off? Are there no sanctions in place for deliberate cheating?

But, Wynne has not been charged for anything more, instead, the minutes have recorded that: “Player is not lifted into a dangerous position. Player holds a leg in a stationery tackle. Opponent contributes and rolls himself to the floor.”

I thought Wigan props were famously trained to find the floor into the tackle?

Yes, I think we all know that they were but what does this have to do with Welsby?

We all saw it was playacting on Saturday; I am surprised that judiciary had the audacity to point this out actually.

I pointed it out on Saturday on the Total RL forum and was laughed out of town by a couple of Saints fans on there, with one saying I was accusing Welsby of diving on to his own head.

Safe to say I found the ruling amusing and haven’t had any replies after pointing it out to said Saints fans.

And as for a ban for Welsby, I’d give him and anybody else willing to do it a final warning that the next one gets a ban.

Immediately it happened I called it on our Rugby WhatsApp group (He's not the first to do it) but it was blatant
The main reason he ended up in that position was because he jumped/lifted his standing leg and threw himself to the floor, he should be sent a warning letter, and the rest of the league be advised that any future attempt to CHEAT the referee will result in "X" (Me, I would penalise him the other way).

Last season I made dozens of posts relating to the cheating/manipulation of the rules, particularly around time wasting/players going down on tackle 1&2 when they receive the ball to give their team time to regather etc. pretending they had head injuries etc. (Hudds at homes last year was a disgrace!). Not 100% up on the new rules, but believe they've brought in something now that if a player goes down injured they have to come off for a period of time??? If so, good, if not they need to do it now.


PS (Just so you don't think I'm on an anti Saints thing - Gale deserved everything he got for A/ Leading with studs/foot up and B/ trying to pick an injured player up).

Throwing yourself on your own head and lying on the floor rubbing it, until the ref gives a penalty and then jumping up without a tap of bother should probably be a penalty though.

Come on mate, I don't believe you're really that stupid. Going to ground to get a quick play the ball and diving to get someone sent off are two completely different things. I'm going to assume you're aware of the difference and are simply on a wind up otherwise the level of stupidity you're showing here is off the scale.
