Re: England Secure Test Series Win Over Tonga : Tue Oct 31, 2023 6:36 pm
Can’t quote again for some reason. Not having a go Stu, I’m guilty of it myself I’m sure. I just don’t read it like that at all.

I know he comes out and backs his ability but why shouldn’t he? His record in coaching is outstanding but he very rarely makes excuses, he doesn’t publicly go after his players or throw them under a bus, he builds them up and on an occasion like that Samoa defeat, he tried to put all the blame on his own shoulders and said he should’ve done things better and would look to improve.

Ultimately I just think time spent in an environment where the countries best players are all together and they’re playing against some monsters in that Tonga pack, the likes of which they rarely face in Superleague will improve most of the England lads in one way or another.

There is literally only one way to interpret "so credit to the Rhinos". Any other interpretation is complete and utter BS. Still theres been a lot of that on this thread so perhaps it's no surprise.

However by the same token don’t portray Wane as some sort of shy, humble leader. He says things in public that don’t need to be said in public.

I completely agree with his comments on Wellens but he didn’t need to say them live on BBC1. A guy who he describes as a close friend. Those comments should be private and to Wellens only.

I also take my comment back about Newman not a winning mentality after spending time with Wane and that environment I am sure he has now :D

There we go

For what the 'ape' may get wrong in his comments about other coaches, the players speak volumes and thats what matters...

It was me who said some posts over the years have been disgraceful (and they have) but you seem to have combined that with posts being copy and pasted over, which isn’t me.

Couple of examples of the posts I refer to-

1-A member of the Sky team being called a f*c*ing summat or over (mocking his disability)

2-A poster being called a paedophile because he made rugby related comments people didn’t agree with.

Just 2 examples in a sea of sh*te.

Now that’s what I call embarrassing!

Both of those are grim, don't disagree there. I saw you post on another thread that perhaps it needs a stronger moderating hand and I can't disagree with that either. I think it's all massively over exaggerated on here though, and I'm just not sure why people that constantly post about what a cesspool it is on there would spend so much time on it and even more time discussing posts on there, not with the posters that made them but on here with their mates? Just a bit weird if you ask me

And just for clarity, why does it bother you what I do? I'm sorry if it butt hurts you to see the moronic rantings of your fellow Saints fans posted here. I'll make sure I consider your feelings before I post any others*

*I wont at all

Think the disconnect here might be that I'm dealing with a grown man that says butt hurt

I think the disconnect came much earlier than that. Around the time you came on here expecting me to give a monkey's what you think.

I browse on there probably for 5-10 mins every few weeks and that’s enough tbh (I browse on other independent boards by the way as I just like to see what’s going on across the game). To find a couple of examples like the ones noted above, in that amount of time tells a tale doesn’t it?!

Don’t know a single person on here personally btw and for clarity, I wouldn’t be responding to people who make the posts that get mocked on here directly on Red Vee, as you’d get more sense talking to a plank of wood (and if you did, you’d probably get called a paedophile).

I’d say it sits somewhere between a fans forum and Twitter if I had to grade it.

The interviewer asked him about Paul Wellens move to Tongan team and his knowledge of the English team.

He didn’t just randomly come out with a dig at Wellens, he was asked about the move and gave an honest assessment of it.

Didn’t see any issue with it.

It was Wellens that turned his back on England…to join a team England were playing in a 3 game series. If he was removed from his position and joined Tonga I’m sure there would be a very different sentiment but he didn’t. He chose Tonga over England and as head coach he had every right to make the comments he did.
