Same here. There are only a few top flight RU clubs so anyone who can't get in there now may see proving themselves in RL as a back door into International RU and a move to a top RU club.

There is one bit of logic in targeting Welsh RU players rather than English ones and that is I only see England trying to short circuit player development and poach our players not the Welsh so much. England RU as in the RFU would also not be interested in trying to poach any Welsh players we might develop but that does not mean English RU clubs would pass up the chance to poach a player even if he is Welsh I suppose.

What and who is he exactly unhappy with? So unhappy he is in all probability prepared to take a pay cut to play a different game?

To be fair he has strong links to out code, and I can see him being fined £5000 already with further fines to come would annoy him somewhat.

Sadly do not think that would be anywhere near enough to unsettle him to cross codes to our game (a game he is very familiar with) as the maths simply would still not add up.

If any league club were able to snag him, it would probably be the biggest coup in the history of our code, but sadly i am certain it is just a pipe dream.

With the introduction of Joel Tomkins, could it put his international place under threat? I'm sure the fans and RFU would rather see and English lad turning out for England (Tomkins) than a Samoan.

He is the darling of the media, a fans firm favourite and probably the biggest cash cow the RFU have. Joel for me will play inside centre in rah rah a much bigger problem position for them to cover for England.
