Exactly, hence my question as to where does this leave the Warriors? They pay £55k to use the DW, but if that money doesnt go to the stadium staff, groundsmen etc, there'll be no stadium made ready and no pitch prepared.
Perhaps its time for the stadium to be sold to a separate company so that both sporting clubs can pay £55K a game to use it, and it could also be used for events/concerts to raise additional revenue. Football/rugby fixtures alone would raise £2m a year, and at least that money would go towards the wages of the DW staff and any upkeep.
It’s a concern. They managed to keep things ticking last time just about but if it happened again, I’m not sure they could for an extended period. We were much deeper in to the season last time as well and then had the off season, where we wouldn’t be using the stadium anyway. This time we’ve played 2 games, so I certainly wouldn’t be wishing administration on the football club if I were a rugby fan, not even if there is ill feeling there.
Longer term we’ll see what happens. The stadium is too big for both clubs 95% of the year. They’ve never had things like concerts on and I always wonder if that’s because of how bad the pitch is. It gets rough anyway, so to start putting concerts on might be a no go.
The major difference in admin now and last time would be that fans are allowed in the ground so there would be SOME income.
Not sure how things work, but the stadium staff such as bar staff, stewards and cleaners etc are all employed by Sodexo and not the football club. I presume the stadium staff they refer to are the likes of marketing for the club, ticket office.
From what I'm led to believe, it won't be administration but there are certainly problems with how they choose to manage the money and that needs to change otherwise this will be an even more regular occurrence.

Fingers crossed. To have this delay on wages for a 4th time is appalling and people have lost trust in them. It looks extremely likely we’re heading back to league one and the time may be to cut the cloth accordingly. That’s a real issue for Latics fans who started to follow them from the Prem onwards because they still see them as a club with that sort of standing. Based on history and fan base the club is a league one (at best) or league two club and only had the Prem days on the back of Dave Whelans investment. The empty heads who called for Leam Richardsons head are the type who won’t stand for cutting the wage bill right back and being happy to stay in the lower leagues for a while and try to build from there. He was doing as well as he could with a squad not good enough for the Championship (but obviously being paid like they are).

I've just posted on the thread on Warriors fans the tweet from the chairmon, just seems so blaze to me, virtually it'll be reet, but how can it be when he hasnt paid staff on time for the 4th time in a season, after just posting a significant loss (albeit they say it was planned and met what the EFL were expecting)
I feel sorry / sympathy for the genuine fans who have been there for years watching them through thick and thin. I know quite a few, and whilst we dont always see eye to eye on our respective clubs, i certainly dont want to see them going through this again if it gets to administration
as i've posted i think on here and ont other forum, i have no interest in football in any way shape or form, fell out with it many years ago, and just find it boring to watch (hence dont watch it). But, this has a direct impact on Wigan Rugby, so watching with interest

He's either an incompetent fool who is out of his depth, or a liar.

quite possibly both
he has been very quiet of late and then posts 2 pieces of bad news in the middle of the night (i dont think they are that far ahead, perhaps 3-4 hours), so looks like he's trying to hide it, so its not picked up on. Whilst most football clubs will run at a loss, and it be controlled, it certainly doesnt feel like they are in control at this moment in time, and he aint fooling anyone i dont think.

There's a post on twitter where someone has copied and pasted Talal's statement into a program and it states that it's 'highly likely' it was created through Artificial Intelligence using Chatgbt.
