Warrington have confirmed the signing of Australian star Andrew Johns on a short-term deal until the end of the season. Johns, widely recognised as the best player in the world, has been given permission by Newcastle Knights to join the Wolves in September. The 31-year-old will make his Wolves debut against Leeds on September 11 and will stay with the club until the end of the season. Warrington hope the sensational capture of Johns can propel them to a place in the Super League Grand Final. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyu ... -coup.html That's has to be the lowest point of any signings a SL club has done. At least we are keeping hold of Matty Smith for a while not a few hours as Wire did. At least most Wire fans with a brain in their had can understand why we have gone and signed Smith earlier than we wished to. We have an injury crisis that is starting to improve but we need another scrum half and with Smith joining in October makes sense to get him early and give Salford some money. As for if we lost Sam ironically one of our best players last week was Murphy who impressed in attack and in defence. Sam's replacement is already here. We can cover virtually any position with quality apart from hooker and scrum half. But talking sense to someone who slags us off is a waste of time. We have more academy players in our side than all SL sides i would guess. And 3 of them are World Class. Mossop Sam SOL. |
