I remember always reading that site when Wilkinson ran it. Always got good insight not found elsewhere, he’d break stories and put a bit of opinion on it.

The fact that the owners have gone radio silent for a full two days following Monday's match despite assurances that out of contract players would be paid Tuesday morning (and still haven't it seems) absolutely speaks volumes.

1) Surely there can't be a future for these owners going forward now, even if they wanted to. Six times wages have been missed now.

2) It seems obvious that the owners simply aren't interested (or cannot afford) to continue and are either looking to offload quickly or simply walk away and ignore. Surely there has to be a statement before the end of the week?

I'm just glad it's not us, our takeover (from ML and Whelan to IL) was pretty much done behind the scenes following the backlash of the salary cap breaches in 2006, it makes you appreciate how good of an owner IL has been over the last 16 years and especially during the tough covid seasons.

Having an owner who has a connection to the area is far better. The problem with a lot of foreign owners is that they see the premier league on TV and think every club is like that.

Geographically, Latics are stuffed - they will never compete for support with the bigger clubs that surround them, and even in the premier league years, they still had a relatively small following. As shown, even trying to stay in the 2nd tier is bankrupting them.

surely now, and i know lots of Latics fans are really f***ed off with them, it has to be time for them to sell up and move on. They saved the Latics a couple of years back, but now are just prolonging the agony and pain for the club / fans. Let someone else take it over, and if there is a pending 23 points deduction, there is a good chance that they will be a League 2 club in just over 12 months, but it will give the new owners a chance to plan and rebuild from there
