Can’t say I’ve heard anything apart from what’s on here (and the rehash of it on Casforum). I have to say it wouldn’t surprise me, though personally I don’t think it’s a good idea from Cas’ point of view. I heard rumblings a few months ago that Zak wasn’t happy living in Wigan and wanted to return to Ponte Carlo next season and commute (he can’t do that at the moment for obvious reasons). Whilst I’m not sure I believe it, apparently Wigan are insisting that he lives within a certain distance of the club (I’m not sure an employer can usually dictate where employees live). I don’t think there’s much doubt that Powell would take him back. It was Steve Gill who terminated Hardaker’s contract and the fall-out from that cost Gill his job. I’m not sure why Wigan would release him, unless of course he’s up to his old tricks again.
He is fine, relatively settled and finding his feet within the club, there is no shady goings on regards his behavior. What is discussed between club and Zak is private as it what they expect of him. I would speculate that a return to Yorkshire is simply a happiness/family situation.
I am led to believe via very quiet murmur the player from Cas is Mike McMeeken.

One sniff that Hardakers wanting back to Cas and his stalker has returned

I’d be disappointed to see McMeeken go, he’s just finding his form again after a poor 2018 and a slow start to 2019. As I’ve always said, I don’t want Hardaker back at Cas. I think Powell does though and he has more influence than I do.
Hardaker for Gale would be an horrendous move given his injury troubles.
Cas know what a fully fit Hardaker can bring and the only players Wigan should even consider a trade for would be Watts, McShane or Trueman.
Cas do know what a fully fit Hardaker can bring but he needs someone like Gale to get the full benefit of him, can’t help but fear there’s some truth to this rumour

I like McMeeken but unless we have a good full back lined up like Gigot then I don’t think it’s a good swap.
Hmm Hardaker for Mcmeeken I wouldn't be happy with! No doubting Zaks quality and he was immense for us in 2017. But he is a big risk. Mcmeeken is a quality player and can create alot for us as he has been showing lately with improved form.
