Agreed. With the wholesale changes in the playing roster at the club it makes good sense to keep Clubb, Lockers and Tommy alongside Powell, Farrell and Flower as a leadership group. The spine of the team is changing and if the budgeting is done correctly, which I have every faith it is, then the next 12/18 months will see a transitional period completed very well.
This will be a little controversial and I am sure plenty of posters will have an issue but whilst the club recognise a large percentage of the fans are fed up, it would be a huge gamble to change 60/70% of our starting 13, we would lose our identity (think Salford in last couple of years), a team full of talent or potential with no direction or will to win.
I would be extremely surprised if it is a straight 2 year deal for Clubby, I would imagine a 12 month/club option deal.
