Again this is the Wigan fan mentality. Slating 2 players who have Grand Final rings for sucking up cap space..yet justifying a player like Kibula.

I do wonder how many have watched Kibula before his loan?

He’s a long way from the first team and I did see plenty of him last season,I’d go as far as to say he’d need another year out on loan before he’s ready,and even then I’m far from certain he will break through to the first team.

I completely agree. The lad looks to have plenty of talent and size but his fitness is nowhere near where needs to be. We’d be luck to get 10 minutes out of him and I’d wonder if even that would be effective.

4 mins - drops ball.
6 mins - makes a five metre drive, takes a bit hit pushing him back three metres, gets annoyed.
7 mins - retaliates with a swinging arm. Yellow card off for 10 mins.

Comes back on, drops ball and then gets dragged off.

Kibula is very hit and miss but he has been playing well for The Rams. I assume that he is not costing us much. He might well end up on loan again next year if he is still with us but as he has probably only just stopped growing it is too early to tell how he will come on.
It is a shame that this is becoming a slagging off session against the youngsters. They are not the problem at the club. We all know that very few junior superstars go on to be world class talents but we are also aware that we give up on players very quickly. Hopefully the reserves might address that because it sometimes looks like we are sending lads out to weak League one and Championship clubs just to be toughened up whilst other areas of their game are ignored.

Exactly!! And our fans can’t wait to see the back of Tautai. Kibula has tons of potential but I don’t think he’s ready yet and I’m 100% sure even Tautai is a better option than him this season.

No the Wigan mentality is to let all our U19s go because they have not yet made it in our first team. So how much does Kibula's salary count against the cap?

I don't think that is up for debate. Kibula is nowhere near ready and he may never progress to the first team but it is too early to rule him out yet. But to let him go because he is taking cap space up, as some posters stating, is way off the mark!

Reports today saying Watkins wants out at Leeds and is considering a move down under. Can’t see him getting a gig in the NRL but surely he would be a good option for us at right centre?

Kibula is totally lacking athleticism. He is the defenition of a flat track bully as a kid who simply won’t make it in my opinion as a SL player never mind a player at a club hoping to challenge for honours.

Not scared at all personally of letting guys like Field, Forsyth, Ganson or even somebody like Partington go. They’re at least a year on in their development (and in most cases 2 or 3 years) and I’ve seen zero to suggest they’ll make it as top level players long term but Kibula is different IMO. He’s younger than those guys and hasn’t had sufficient time or chances to make an impression yet. I’m not saying you’ll turn out to be wrong but I think it’s at least a year early to cull such a young player who in the grand scheme of things must be costing us very little.
