Im lead to believe that Hastings had agreed to join Wigan but Leeds came in with a significntly higher offer so nothing signed yet...

I was led to believe Budgie re-signing was well over the line, but apparently not...I guess the club found it more important to make sure they resigned Clubb and secured Clark & Bibby.

I am never one to worry but I am starting to feel like someone at the club has hit the panic button and it is not surprising that the remaining quality we have is starting to worry...even Dan Sarginson turned down a good renewal to look elsewhere

I’m pretty confident Burgess has signed an extended deal. The reason? His form went west about a month ago around the time people started saying the ink was dry.

I always think that’s a tell tale sign of a poor culture at a club, when players play out of their skin for a new deal then drop away once it’s signed. It used to happen all the time pre Maguire then from 2010 up until about a couple of seasons back we saw an end to it but it’s creeping back in.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. I’ve read people saying how would they afford him with their marquee spots tied up but it’s nailed on that Merrin will be going home and Leeds are now the sort of club (like the old Salford or now Toronto) who’ll magically manage to release players to fit new signings.

Think the first thing Wigan need to invest in is some pens as these verbal agreements are not worth the paper they’re written on.

That’s exactly right, whoever is in charge of signing contracts needs to grow a pair and be a bit more assertive and get people to sign the bloody thing.

I was led to believe Hastings has been as awkward as possible in negotiation and left the door open for anyone to come in with offers...

I would not be surprised if we end up with Kallum Watkins and Leeds end up with Jackson Hastings.

I was speaking to someone as close as it gets to the Edwards situation and let’s just say incompetent doesn’t come close to describing how awful the club are in terms of doing it’s transfer business.
