One extra year on top of this one for Lam wouldn't be the worst option, in my view. He'd be motivated to try and get us out of the quagmire we're in now, and if we were still poor at the end of 2019, we'd then have a whole 12 months to try and find someone better. One thing that's been worrying me about the coaching situ is that, sacking Lam now would would see us totally rudderless for the remainder of this year (when we still have survival to fight for), and with very little time to get someone in for next year.

Hastings would be a good get although he certainly won't be the messiah some fans are hyping him as. Hopefully there are two or three more alongside him if he has actually signed.

On Wigan TV Burgess himself said he was offered a year and will use it to fight for a longer extension at the club next season. I to find it hard to believe and think it may be a bit of spin on a contract that possibly just suits both parties.

Isn’t it funny that Gildart is rumoured to be off the Canberra at the end of next season and Burgess just signs a 1 year deal? A young lad who in 999 times out of a 1000 would sign a 3 or 4 year deal.

They must think we were born yesterday.

Or maybe Burgess isn’t quite performing at the level expected and his salary demands, and the club don’t want to commit to him for 3 years at the wages he wanted.

Is there a better 7 available? I can't think of one who realistically Wigan could aim for. Maybe Maloney, but its a shallow pool.

Josh Drinkwater is a good player, if we didn’t get Hastings or Maloney I’d be looking at him.

Don’t think the Hull KR fans are fully sold on him and I certainly don’t think he’s worth spending a transfer fee on.
