I suppose the frightening thing is he is Catalans first marquee player,it makes you wonder how they’ve fitted the other stars under the cap?

Don't know why people are bickering over Maloney or Hastings. We've signed Hastings and Maloney has gone to Cats. It's a done deal. Move on.

We were never going to sign Jimmy, I don't think anyone was but Cats really if you read the Maloney interview. To paraphrase; Steve Mac sounded him out months ago about it, Maloney was interested but didn't want to leave the Panthers when they were poor, but they've been in touch ever since Steve Mac was an assistant at the Roosters when Jimmy was their 6.
Now the Panthers doing well; he's happy to seek new pastures.

Additionally he also pointed out the lifestyle in France was far more appealing than that in the north of England.

Personally I'm ok with it. His signing strengthens SL and hopefully makes Cats into a team challenging for the GF.

Good on Catalans for getting a top player in. There’s an endless stream of good players at the back end of their careers who go over but the results rarely seem to change. On the face of it Maloney is a top signing but he’s the latest in a long list of similar signings and a cup win aside, they continue to frustrate. Until they move away from the retirement home culture I don’t think things will change to any great degree.

George Burgess alongside Hastings and French would be quality acquisitions and would transform this team overnight. If, and it still is a big if, we do bring in the other 2; speak it quietly but I’d be very optimistic for 2020.

Maybe I, and some others, were wrong in our criticisms. Or maybe the club has listened to the fans frustrations and acted upon it.

According to the Sidney herald burgess is likely to take up a three year deal with Wigan

I won’t hold my breath but after signing Hastings and having what seems to be a genuine attempt to sign Burgess at least we are showing ambition.

These signing would be great for Wigan. Combined with the more attractive rugby that we are playing under Lam, Wigan would be a top team again and the crowds would increase.
Also, our better players would enjoy playing for Wigan and may not be too tempted to go to pastures new.
