Agreed, credit where credit is due he has done a wonderful job at Saints.

Assume he was under contract for next year so Saints will have more than likely factored in a clause protecting them against player raids on them, if not though will be interesting to see if he can tempt a few of his favourites the the NRL in the next few years also.

Interesting times ahead for Saints.

He is certainly a great coach and the Super League will be poorer without him but I dare say Saints will be very coy in their appointment.

He was. Saints put an offer on the table earlier in the year but he was stalling in signing it. I think the writing was on the wall from that point on.

Holbrook has been a sterling acquisition for St Helens and SL. There’s a huge gap to fill now in that vacancy, I’ve read somewhere that Saints were considering approaching a certain Agent Shaun Wane. I’d be astounded if he did become Saints coach though.

As for Escare; can’t say his release hasn’t been coming. I do feel for the boy but we’ve simply better players.

Absolutely agree, he was the man they needed after the awful Cunningham reign.
