Literally nowhere for Escare to play unless there are significant injuries. It surely will be a year of reserve grade. That being said he's more than entitled to see out his contract. Not fair to moan when players want to break their contract to move elsewhere and then moan when someone wants to stay.

If Escare is on £100k + then you really have to question who gave him that deal.

Imo there's still a lot of fat to be trimmed from the squad. From what we've heard it's not unreasonable to think that Escare, Navarrette and Clubb you will be costing us in the region of £150k+. Without sounding too harsh on Navarrette and Clubb - can we really say that's value for money? It's a marquee level % of the cap gone on three guys who don't play regular games.

There's also out and out wingers + Bibby taking up a decent chunk of the cap too.

I can imagine that it is, but I tried to stay clear of going too OTT with figures, as even if we talk about minimum numbers it's shocking how much 'fat' there is on this roster

Why can't people just have a sensible debate? Praise the club when they do well - I'm still made up about the GB signing btw, but also just have a debate on stuff like this.

It isn't a personal vendetta or attack, more just a comment on if we are getting value for money. In a sport with a cap, all the players have to provide real value and tying up a chunk of cap space on these three doesn't seem like the best approach imo.

I always thought Clubb had been re-signed to play with the reserves and be available for the first team.
We don't know his salary details but perhaps he was prepared to take a drop and stay at Wigan knowing if he left he would still take the same drop? Who knows.
The reserves will have to have older players as the squad just being made up of over age U19s won't learn anything out there. A couple of older heads Like Clubb and Sammut could help them enormously.
