We don't have to try and get rid of him as he is off contract at the end of this season so we can simply allow his contract to run down. Believe me, he has been offered a new deal but he has not decided if he wants to sign it. Mullen is also out of contract so the same applies there.

Mullen and Shorrocks will be released at the end of the season either way, Escare will be staying at Wakefield, Sammut and Woods I’m not sure but we’re trying to move them on, we have too many halfbacks at the club and certainly too many without real quality

I don't disagree with the fact that we are trying to move some players on, the point I was making is that Mullen and Shorrocks don't fall into that category as they will have no contract with the Club at the end of this season. However, I can assure you 100% that Shorrocks has been offered a new deal.

Rumours that Jake Shorrocks to Widnes. Not sure if on a permanent deal, or if we give him a contract extension and he goes there on loan.

Bit of a forgotten man given the big names we have secured since he was announced but I’m looking forward to seeing if Clarke can force his way into a regular in our 17.

Watched the Leigh game yesterday and thought his aggressive running and post contact meters were impressive. He does however look to be a little lazy at times switching off in defence and also looks to be carrying a bit of bad weight.

He has in my opinion some real potential and if he embraces the club culture at Wigan I think he could be a useful signing.
