Was a strange signing which made no sense at the time. Time proved it wasn't a good move with the club moving him on after only a season. Good to have more space on the cap.

He didn’t let anyone down but can’t say it’s gutting to see him leave. The higher Harry Smith is up the pecking order the better for me. It really needs to be the season he gets some minutes under his belt.

Smith is the future and with Hastings around he should learn from him as much as possible,if he can turn that potential into full on form he’s going to be some player.

Let’s hope so at least.

I’d start the season with Leuluai and Hastings in the halves and look to get Smith some minutes from the bench. As the season wears on hopefully he’ll get a few starts and we can see what’s he’s about. I’ve loved watching him for the 19’s these past couple of years. He’s looked a class above and is really dominant but it’s a huge step.

I was against the signing at the time but felt he added a spark in his limited opportunities. As others have said, I'd rather Smith get a crack. Particularly as this is presumably Leuluai's last season, and Hastings may go back to Aus after a season or two.

Who knows, he might take to first team rugby like a duck to water just like ST but I'd be loathe to be relying on him to be our starting half.
I'd sooner ease him in, if he gets half a dozen games next year then brilliant.
