Images on Facebook earlier today showing Escare (along with Lockers and Flower) taking part in a dodgeball competition yesterday. Dressed in his Wigan RL tracksuit and looking *relaxed and happy.
Not saying that he won't be leaving/going out on loan, but maybe whatever was going on last season has been laid to rest?
* Sammut looked happy in training last week in full gear and he's no longer with us.
They’re paying him so they may as well have him training with the squad. It could well run and run this Escare departure because clubs will know we want shut of his wages. I’m still pretty surprised that Lam didn’t fancy using him last year. He spoke about this exciting brand of rugby we’d play then went about as safety first as you can get with his selections, leaving attacking players like Escare, Sammut and Greenwood twiddling their thumbs most of the time.
Escare is clearly on the outer at the club. It’s only a matter of time. The longest it will run will be till the end of the year, as I don’t see anyone coming in for him at this stage and on his rumoured wage.
The best bet for me would be a loan move if/when a team picks up an injury in the back 3.
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Was there anything concrete around Escare's wages? One new poster claimed they had heard that he was on a six figure contract. At the same time the poster also claimed Shorrocks to Widnes and Hampshire to Huddersfield (neither happened), the source the poster later named was a widely discredited journalist, who said we hadn't made a bid for French due to Escare's high wages......a week before French's signing was announced.
Despite all the demonstrably wrong information the poster and his source gave out at that time, everyone seemed to blindly take the 'inside info' on Escare's wage as fact as it fitted with an agenda. When he signed the extension he had played 10 games for us after being on the fringes at Catalans. I doubt we offered him so much on that strength.

In a word - no.
It’s all second guessing and putting together halve truths
I wouldn't be surprised if the truth is somewhere slightly in the middle. He's probably not on £100k +, but I'd safe it's a pretty safe bet to assume he's on more than he's worth. If he wasn't on that much then he'd have snapped up by someone else right?

I was led to believe by someone from the club that Escare is on a £100k contract and that Lam thought he was grossly overpaid for his abilities and probably wouldn't feature in his plans. I was told this before the 2019 season had commenced so not playing has proved to be accurate sods on balance I have no reason not to believe his contracted salary.
Escare's attitude I believe also grinds within the club and is another reason for his limited appearances. I'm not anti Escare I just think that he is a limited player incapable of performing well on a consistent basis and seemingly on a comparatively ridiculous contract. If he could improve his fitness and alleged poor attitude he could still potentialy turn it around but probably not at Wigan whilst Lam is there
A few respected RL journalists have previously said Escare is on a six figure wage.
Escare is capable of being the starting full back of a mid table SL team and I'm sure that's where he'll end up. He could be Wakefield's starting full back in game 1 of 2020 if he wanted to be but he doesn't want to give up the money and for me that's fair enough. Wigan have to fulfil the contract they agreed with him.
I think a few would be surprised at some of the salaries paid to players. Keith Mason successfully sued Huddersfield Giants for wrongful dismissal, and it was reported that his salary was £95K p.a. I seem to remember as part of the same case that Craig Kopczak salary was reported to be £120K p.a.

When he signed that contract Mason was a veteran of approx 200 games, challenge cup winner and an obvious starter for Huddersfield. He was also coming off a year where he won 'coaches player of the year', 'directors player of the year' and 'Huddersfield man of Steel' in a year they finished high in the table. I could see why they would spend a fair bit of their cap on him, even though it didn't work out in hindsight.
Escare had shown some promise but he had played half the number of games, and would be competing for a shirt rather than being expected to make the 17 every week. I don't have any inside knowledge but would have thought Mason was a bigger piece of the puzzle at Hudds at the time compared with Escare when he signed his latest contract at Wigan.
