The ideal scenario for us is that Harry Smith really pushes through, then the pressure isn’t as high in regards to Hastings staying or going. If he goes you only need one half and if he stays then that’s great. If it worked out nicely we could spend Lockers and Leuluai’s money on another big prop forward to go alongside George Burgess.

Don’t think it’s really fair to the current recruitment to say it would be a huge direction to the clubs transfer policy.

We have signed the current Man of Steel and a huge name in Burgess.

I don’t really see 2 bigger name recruits in SL for 2020.

I do think we will be looking at 2 new halves for 2021. Hastings I’m sure will be off and TL will be more than likely retire. Smith for me will be backup so I’d expect an older head and a lad coming into his peak.

One thing is for sure we are desperate to know what people’s plans are now, not in 6 months time.

Locky is gone. So we know that.

We will probably have 1 maybe 2 marquee sports available if rumours are true that this will increase to 3.

I don’t have any factual basis or inside info however I do just have a feeling we will see Sam Burgess at Wigan in 2021.

Biby may have been brought in to replace Gildart who I wouldn’t be shocked to see go, regardless of contract status.

I’m looking forward to 2020 and focusing on that. My main concern is Burgess as he is a lot of salary cap on a player who hasn’t hit his top form in a couple of years but I believe we should really be competitive on all fronts.

2021 signings though should be very interesting indeed I admit.

It really could be a very significant player turnover for 2021. O'Loughlin the definite one while Hastings, Leuluai, Flower, J Burgess, Gildart and Escare are all probable/possible departures.

Would you prefer home grown talent as marquee players? You know the ones that tend to just play shop window rugby until the national express to Sydney arrives!

If they deserve it (like George did IMO) then yes
What differnece does it make if a homegrown lad gets the marquee money, or an Aussie/Big name who comes for 2 years then goes somewhere else?

George didn’t deserve it though IMO. And when he was given it he abused it to get a better contract in Australia. For what it’s worth I think the whole concept of having marquee players is wrong, yes by all means players should negotiate For better contracts, after all it’s a short career and they need to earn all they can. But all this nonsense of putting them on this sandstone pedestal called “marquee” is quite pathetic IMO
