Sky can go and get stuffed, their only bothered about screening the glamour sports and women’s sport.

I hope to God someone else comes in instead of Sky and buys the rights to screen the games, in fact, if the games weren’t shown on Sky then maybe more people will go to games which is a far better experience than sitting in front of the telly listening to the idiots on sky.

Either way, I’m sure there’s some company willing to take a punt on RL.

If it turns out to be a reduced TV deal and let's be honest, C-list sponsorship throughout the game, we're heading back to semi pro sport status.

The problem is who? I can’t help but feel we’re at a real crossroads and us and RU can be compared to the darts bodies PDC & BDO. RU goes from strength to strength whilst RL struggles.

The game needs to stay mainstream which means either Sky or BT. For those calling for a return to BBC/ITV; Sky do put at least one game a month on free to air Sky Sports Mix and it hasn’t, as far as I know anyway, majorly impacted viewing figures so for me the return to BBC/ITV argument is kind of redundant.

Eurosport or God forbid Dave would be an unmitigated disaster but I think the chances of that are remote. There’s no way the Chairmen of SL clubs would allow that to happen.

The RFL should get itself a production team, let's face it most of the Sky team have nowhere else to go. Get it on YouTube as a channel, global reach.

You can’t seriously be suggesting the RFL take RL off television and put it on YouTube instead?! Thereby removing the much needed Sky money and not just putting the final nail in the coffin but doing the full funeral service and burial too!

This is why Sky won’t give us any more money, because they know we are skint. They’ll treat us as filler to get more subscriptions.

What they need to do is do what they did with football, pump some money into the game and that’s what they did with the Premier league.

If Sky want a better game to get more viewers then they need to give us more money, it’s as simple as that. To get us the NRL and Union players, they’ll need to pay for it but it seems the last few years Sky don’t spare us a second thought. Even on the adverts for the year ahead there is women’s NBA being advertised and Superleague isn’t, just shows what they think of us. So they advertise women’s basketball in America before Superleague on their doorstep, one sport that’s been there since the start.

IL has said it is nonsense. He also said we didn’t try to re-sign Gelling as claimed by Wire
