It’ll be great to see him in SL. Impressive work by wire getting him to sign, makes life easy for the social media and marketing department having someone of his calibre on the books.

Can imagine with all the injuries he will play in the centres?

The former Test superstar is expected to move to England at the end of the year if COVID-19 travel restrictions have been eased and will play his first match in almost two years at the start of 2021.

The 33-year-old retired in April 2019 after losing his passion for playing following ongoing struggles with knee and shoulder injuries. Inglis forfeited the remaining 18 months of his contract with Souths.

However, he was never medically retired as his injuries weren't considered career ending but Inglis felt he could no longer perform to his own standards.

Great marketing signing and we’ll see on the playing side. The game clearly wants to go to Sky and say we’ve got Inglis, SBW, Folau, G Burgess, Widdop, etc, now put the money on the table and hopefully Sky will play ball and not just see these guys as past their best (which they all probably are).

Will he get a visa? I thought you had to play x amount of games in the past year or two.

edit: Nvm looks like that only applies to junior players rather than first-grade.

Amazing signing for Wire. Can see him being a bit hit or miss on the field but will definitely boost their crowds a bit and shirt sales etc.

Great for the game. Will Inglis be a success? Only time will tell.

I believe that he has already got a visa.

Signing an overseas player (who retired) on a massive contract seems miles away from wires usual transfer policy

You would’ve lapped this up if it was Wigan, didn’t retire through injury 1 year deal... risk seems worth it to me, your lot will be paying for George burgess’ hip replacement at the end of his contract.
