Agree, but the problem is that whenever players of a similar age from down under come off contract, we have some supporters suggesting that they be signed by Wigan.

I am not one for signing Aussies who are 30 ish but there are still some players available, at the right age, who would be valuable to our team e.g. Kane Evans who is 28 years of age.

Lockers has been instrumental for us and his sheer presence works wonders on and off the field. His impending retirement means money is available but I feel the financially shrewd thing to do would be to bank it and put Smithies at 13. We’re going to be challenged financially to levels where we haven’t been for a long time. I personally don’t feel we should be splashing the cash, even if that is at a detriment to on field performances. I’d rather the club take measures to secure a good financial future than gamble on an Aussie.

How can some supporters say that Lockers and Tommy should retire while others say we should sign players of a similar age?

Lockers is 37 and should have retired after the 2018 GF, He's lucky if he can play more than 30 minutes a game and then only plays half a season, Fans need to deal with the fact that nothing last's forever.

Proctor is currently 31, He would have just turned 32 at the start of the 2021 season, by my arithmetic that's 5 years age difference

ps. Lockers will be 38 at the start of next season

So make that 6 years age difference

Bowen And Finch where both past their best but still put in some good stints for us, As for Evans, If he is good enough then get him signed up
