Maybe to protect him from being labelled greedy? He would have had at least a couple of gf winners rings and a world club under his belt had he not chased the money. But i do not blame him with the deal he was offered.

doubt it as his uncle is a friend of ,y dad, wouldnt have been the first player to leave wigan for money in the SC era so dont think it would have come across that way

Winning by 1 point, he tries a stupid kick inside rather than punching the ball into touch to run down the clock.

Edit - It wasn't the final minute, but was the play that gave Leeds the field position for a repeat set and the penalty.
