I hope he doesn't but recently there's more success stories than tales of doom.

And all of them a few years older than him and family so my point is ind of proved, i dont doubt he will go but there's plenty of time for that later on, but we shall see.

The Farnworth situation was different though. He was "taken" over to Aus before he had ever played scholarship or academy rugby.

From the letter from IL I think that puts pay to hopes of any big new signings imo. I would also guess it could spell the end to any chance that Lockers or Tommy plays on (unless they are willing to take a big pay cut). For me I’m not bothered, weve got a cracking youth set up and I want to see the club survive. If/when crowds can return I would hope the numbers increase, like when we had our backs to the walls facing relegation.

I think we’ll make a few additions but they’ll be more your Brad Dwyers than your John Batemans. There should be a huge chunk of salary cap walking out the door and I think they’ll make some sensible additions but if we think we’ll start bringing in marquee players or competing with the likes of Warrington for any in demand superleague players, I think we’ll be disappointed.

We’ll be fine anyway. There’s some incredible talent in the academy. It’ll be a big job for guys like Powell and Farrell to lead them but we’ll get there.

Dwyer could be a great signing if we adopt the 6 again NRL rule as he would give us that zip round the PTB to really build some momentum with rolling sets.

Having said that Amir Bourouh is also very explosive and direct round the PTB and for that reason I’d not really look at Dwyer.

He (Dwyer) seem to be a player we are linked with every off season with no real substance apart from the link that he is a Wigan lad. I’m guessing this is the same.

I’d back Bourouh as well over signing Dwyer but it’s probably players around that Dwyer salary bracket we’d be looking at. I can’t for the life of me think we’d pay Bateman the huge wages he’d want/deserve but would love to be proven wrong. It may come down to how much season ticket money the club needs to pay back.

That probably puts paid to the Currie rumours too.

Personally, as much as I’d like Currie and/or Bateman to sign, I’d be happy to cull those who are already leaving and retiring and not replace them with new signings but with what we’ve already got in youth. Short term it may damage us but long term it’ll be better for us and we’d be able to go into the next phase of CV19 on a better financial footing.

I would prefer to give bourouh more game time than sign dwyer. As for Currie, he would be a nice to have rather than a must have
