Sorry, but I can't agree with that. With the trajectory of the way things are going, I think crowds will be allowed back at a point where many fans, especially older ones (a fair percentage) may think it prudent not to attend yet.

As it is looking that the Reserve League which has already been scrapped for this season and possibly until 2022 in order for clubs to recover their finances, I doubt that the club will not be looking at signing any players unless they are of top International quality like John Bateman.

Especially, when the club at the moment has got a very large squad of forty plus players which includes some who were were signed to play in the Reserve League and and at the end of this season, the additional problem of players in the present Under 18 Academy team being signed for next seasons first team squad.

Sorry having too say this, but some players at the club will have to leave in order for the club to get back on a sound financial footing.

I wouldn’t be so sure. With the correct marketing a huge gate can be expected for the first return game.

That would probably depend on it being all back in one go and I’d say that’s unlikely. Looking at the Aussie model, they’ll probably start with hospitality, then go to a couple of thousand and build up. By the time it gets to being able to use a full stadium, a lot of people may have already been and lost that feel of needing to show their support.

Say it’s best case and they find a vaccine this year and come the start of next season our vulnerable supporters (as a minimum) have had it and we’ve still not been able to get many, if any fans in the ground in 2020, then I could see us getting big crowds for the start of 2021. A lot needs to fall in to place for that to happen though.

I watched Hancock's Half Hour and although the questions were about the Gov'ts failed app I was really pleased to hear him announce progress made with the vaccine.
Hancock referred to it as the Oxford Vaccine which led me to think when they patented it that was its marketing name. Also that Astra Zeneca were now producing the vaccine in bulk prior to approval. AZ are not doing that if they are unsure about the trials or about getting approval.
If that's the case then the vaccine may be out in August as they suggested some time ago.

Should that happen then crowds could be back in the grounds by October which would help clubs enormously. Things are dire right now but the crisis may have abated before too long. Hope so!

Clubs are doing all they can but will have to make unpleasant decisions.

A report the other day from AZ, said that the results from the phase 3 trials will be available late August or September, and if successful they would be ready to roll out on October.

Sorry about being political.

Hopefully the vaccine will be out before too long. Whether they roll it out October or before it could very well help next season and the sport.
