He’s doing things the right way so fair play to him. There’s been no sulking, no crying off games etc. He’s just been fantastic and a joy to watch and hopefully he can’t help us get some silverware before he goes.
Agreed he has been/is a joy to watch, will be a shame to see him go but fair play to him.
It’s not all one way though yes he has been great for us but we have given him the shop window in which to show of his talents so I’d expect him to be nothing less than fully committed to us for the rest of his time with us.
Looks likely we have recruited Field to replace him.
I’m nervous about potentially losing both him and Hastings at the same time. We lose a lot of “x factor” if both go.
I see a lot of comments about Hastings level of commitment to Wigan, which I don’t really get. For me he has been superb on the field he is playing a slightly different role to the one he played at Salford but it is in my opinion also playing a level above what he was doing last year.
A section of the fans haven’t warmed to him and maybe there are some examples where he hasn’t helped himself in that regard but his performances are where it counts for me and in that department he was been outstanding.
Some massive shoes to fill.
If Hastings does go I seriously hope we are looking at someone like Marshall who looks to be after a 2 year deal.
He isn’t the line breaking player he once was but his ability to control a game and create a try are still up there with the best of them.
