| Have some ever considered that Watson might not want to leave his beloved Salford where he is in a secure job and respected for what he is doing at the club, both by the Directors of the club and supporters.
Why put yourself on a pedestal at a bigger club and have to put up with the adverse comments like Lam and previously Wane have had to put with at Wigan from the never happy whoever is Coach brigade.
Anyone would think that we were in the bottom half of the table and not second!
Some should consider why Leeds when McDermott left never went after Watson insead of Assistant Warrington Coach Agar or St Helens instead of Wolf.

I think Watson was interviewed for the saints job wasn't he?why they didn't give it him who knows.
As for agar he was coaching Leeds's kids when he got the call and id assume after the business with Furner Sinfield wanted someone he knew and how he worked.
But you're right Watson may not want to go anywhere, though ive read he does want to try the NRL at some point which I would assume most coaches in SL would like to do.
I'd still offer Watson the chance at Wigan though,Lam isn't doing it for me and never has since the day he came, but I dont own the club so its all but wishful thinking on my part.

| He may not want to come but it would be good to know that IL & Rads would be trying . Another year of mediocrity under Lam would be grim but probably makes sense financially.
You get the impression that they are praying for Lam to come good but most of us can see this will never happen.

That’s entirely plausible IMO but you’d *think* in order to further his career he’d have to move on to a ‘bigger’ club and that’s no disrespect to Salford either. As for your last suggestion - we don’t know if they did or didn’t go for him or speak to him and the reasons for him not getting it

| There could be problems with signing Watson in that if he moves he'd want to bring his Salford coaching staff with him. There then wouldn't be any place for those coaches currently in the Wigan set up.
That could mean cancelling contracts of those like Winder, Peet and Goulding with Lockers and Leuluai already lined up. Cancelling their contracts would cost an absolute fortune.
Should the club go NRL then the appointee couldn't bring assistants from Oz and the current assistant incumbents would stay.
Whichever way the club goes one hopes that Lam departs at the end of the season and at the end of his contract.
Imagine the walk up crowd (or lack of) in 2021 if Lam were to stay!

Lam has a rolling 12 month deal so it never ends until he is given notice i believe.
Has anyone else thought that they may give the role to Winder with lockers joining the coaching set up and Goulding stepping up to 1st team.
God help us if they do.

Goulding I believe is taking over as head of youth development.

That’s exactly what’ll happen. We all know it. The full back room staff needs a clear out IMO. Happy for Goulding to stay, he’s not really been there long enough to make a huge difference yet.
